  • Who's had this issue... help me out

    KK well I'm pretty sure my turbo is pooched to start off... Anyways here is my issue


    -Under throttle, no boost is built and a fluttering noise can be heard

    -Turbo makes awful noises when I turn the car off and it stops spinning

    -shaft play, not sure how much is acceptable, but I have it.

    I feel like even if my turbo was shot it would boost some?

    Any help greatly appreciated as always!

      possible, but there is enough noise that I'm thinking the worst. Car runs flawlessly besides this issue... no stall, no weird idle, no chunking etc...

            still under warranty?

            i've seen a brand new Garret turbo blow a bearing during a dyno tune

                    That is large amount of shaftplay. Rebuild/replace time.

                          That is ridiculous! I had a gt30r die from oil starvation in about 450-500km with nowhere near as bad of shaftplay.

                            Oh man lol... yup mines pooched for sure. Also quite a bit of residue on intake side of turbo... normal?


                            Possible reasons? how can I figure out true reason?

                              Oil residue?

                              First thing I would do is call where it was purchased from (FR?) and explain your situation calmly. I know this is really frustrating, but if you can be calm with them it may help them ultimately help you out.

                              bb or jb turbo? What size oil restrictor/line?
