ya but the problem is how do you get the bolt to thread into the new holes? they need something to thread into on the inside of the wing

These parts are not JDM, they are Chinese made knock offs if you check the original post. JDM is still the good stuff!

Just make sure your hole is a fraction smaller than the outside edges of the screw and it will fit snug.

i would think thou after time from strong headwinds that the hole would get bigger from the pressure of the bolt. but i could be wrong

I had OMP carbon fibre seats in my old car and I actually had to drill out holes for the seat mounts that didnt line up exact...the carbon was actually thick enough that I could use a tap on the hole and get realy good threads....If you make the 4 original holes and tap them ( if you can ) it may be strong enough.

Personally, if you mod the wing... make sure it's good and solid. Because you don't want the wing to break off like someone said earlier... It's a gamble

I'm wondering if the wing is hollow all the way through , if it is i might be able to run threaded steel rods through the wing and attach the wing either side with lock nuts. I went back to have a thorough look after i cooled off and the wing is about 8mm norrower across it's width than the standard factory wing so i might be able to make up some 2mm aluminum fillets to go between the endcaps and the wing body to improve its structural integrity at the ends.

Having said that the carbon wing weighs about as much as the factory wing so it might have a ton of GRP inside it which would make running the threaded rods through it somewhat hard.

Im gonna sleep on it for a while and mull it over. If I do decide to do this ill post details of it in my build thread.

I think the lesson here is cheap is attractive but possibly not worth the headache? Sucks you have to deal with all this but I'd really like to see some pics of the finished product and if you do get it to work you will like it that much more. Good luck

A compromise has been reached with Cunit and yes I'm going to see if i can make it work.

If you want to see how it's done , ill eventually post the details in my build thread.
