  • RB turbo kits

I have been looking for a little bit into buying an aftermarket turbo kit setup for my rb25det series 2 and came accross this kit.

I am wondering if anyone has used this kit before or has heard anything about it.

Thank you in advance for any help or tips.

(looking for a decent kit for a reasonable price that the manifold wont
crack after a week or a few track days like I have ran into before)

hey man so ive gone through my fair share of turbo kits mostly with hondas. i started off on a ebay kit and i changed a few things like the wastegate boost controller to a ebc but they were mainly ebay kits and the things i noticed are the manifolds are complete garbage! i cant even count on one hand how many ebay manifolds i have gone through. mostly the wastegate flange would not only crack but it would entirely fall off! ive had welders re weld and brace them but doesnt seem to help. the turbos are decent tho. the one i played around with the most was the t3/t4 50 trim and they made decent power. i was making 417 on 17 psi on a gsr (1.8l) and i blew the seals on one out of the 3 that i had but i didnt really care cause the turbo was like 120 shipped for a new one lol. but basically i grew out of messing with the ebay kits and like 99% of the guys on here are gna tell you that you get what you pay for and dont mess around with ebay parts especially manifolds. now the only thing i would buy off ebay for my turbo kit is a universal ic piping kit becasue they seem to be decent. just my 2cents

Honestly man if it was me I would save my money for proven products. Yes that usually means the high end stuff but look what other guys are running here on on skyline SAU. I have to admit that the downpipe doesnt look to bad. Those lines idunno and it might be just a huge pain in the ass to make it if. Not to much that it looks really gross, if it were me I would be semi embarrassed just knowing that was even under my hood, let alone if anyone asked me questions about my setup.

Build your car for you without a doubt, I just would like to see you have less head ache and some better quality parts that probably will last longer.

Plain and simple, you get what you pay for. There is no such thing as a "good deal" on eBay. Sure, it may be attractive due to the initial price, but the cost required to fix, and modify parts like that just to work properly or for an extended period of time isn't worth it.
I've heard so many horror stories from customers who came to me after buying eBay manifolds, then realizing it was a huge waste of money because the manifold was garbage.
That said, that particular manifold above I've never seen before, it could be decent, who knows. My advice is to buy a quality turbo, and get a manifold custom made locally. That way you have a recourse if it falls apart, you can always take it back.
Good luck whichever way you choose!

The way that thing is designed looks hideous , unequal length header pipes = unpredictable scavenging , especially the 2 feeding into 1 at the end of the block ,

Researched these when looking to do my lancer...nothing from these kits seems worth your time or money.

So far it is not looking good, i noticed the bad design in the runners and such.
I am in the market if the price is right for a top mount turbo manifold, i would like a quality piece but I can not afford high dollar stuff as at the moment I am a privatear.
If I had backing sure send me the best but until that day comes i need something that will with stand abuse but not tons of money.

I just scene this kit roaming around as I have purchased one of the rads 2 years ago and love it. (awsome piece)

If someone sees something they know is good and for a reasonable price hit me with a pm and link also

Well if anyone has used this kit or a similar kit let me know what your outcome was.

i dont know what your budget is like but im trying to put together a 6boost manifold group buy if your interested pm me.
you say you need something that can stand abuse but not cost tons of money. it doesnt always work like that unfortunately. you never have money to do it right the first time but you always have money to do it twice!

Found Ebay turbo oil feed inlets are pinhole size... best to save your bling for proven products as already stated. Costs a bit more but worth it. NEVER try to cut corners on performance, this is the one of the few types of things that you get what you pay for and cheap parts will end up being more expensive down the line.

or get yourself a credit card if you can't wait but want it now.

You would be better off looking for a good used unit in the FS section , even post what you want in the wanted section , you never know what a long time car enthusiast has lying around in the workshop .

true enough, just to clear it all up the rb25det is in an s13, i am not sure if that makes a diference for the design of the manifold

im pretty sure a manifold made for a r33 needs to be modded to fit in the 240

Can fit a GT3076R turbo + internal wastegate exhaust housing on a stock RB25DET mid mount manifold. Good for 402rwhp on a stock RB25DET.

Then later on switch to a steam pipe, thick flange, high mount exhaust manifold with external wastegate, adaptor you can use to convert exhaust housing on turbo when using external wastegate.

so a gt3076r will bolt onto a stock rb manifold?
