hey not sure if anyone knows the answer to this...

if i just Air-cared my car in Vancouver about 2-3 months ago and move to Ontario registering my car there... do i have to redo the emission test in Ontario, or will they go off the fact that i have a recent Vancouver emission test?

Yes you'll need an etest and a safety check to get ontario plates.

luckily for the ontario safety, you dont need DOT headlights. or 3rd brake light...or side markers. just a cat man

I beg to differ. My car passed e-test last year with 1 bad maf, and no cat in it at all. It was way under the limits too (about 1/2) so there is more room left to fiddle.

Hmm...Good to know, means theres still hope. Unfortunately everyone I know either fails miserably or buys their stickers.

i just transfered the ownership of a 1965 dune buggy to my wife that i bought for her last year .

If it's 15 years or older , you now need an appraisal in ontario , they will give you a form that you have to have filled out by an authorized shop . First timei have run into that. Until you do that - no plates .

Appraisals aren't hard to come by. I could get one any day of the week. And I guess I'll have to for my other skyline now
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

So So So Soooooooooooooooo fail Ryan!
If you RB isnt tuned and is still on 100 octane Japanese tune, there is a VERY VERY VERY easy way to pass.
All you need to do is wait until you gas tank is about an 1/8th full, pour in a bottle of OCTANE BOOSTER and fill up on 94.
Make sure the car is nice and hot before they do the test an your good.

emissions have to be done every 2 years right? i remember hearing something about if the last number on your plates is odds or even number, it makes a diference when you have to do it..not sure how to word it but is this true? the thing is i cant remember when i did my emission last and i have to renew my sticker..anyone?

Emissions are every 2 years. The Ministry sends you a reminder when you are due, along with your plate renewal. Cars form before 1989 don't have to take the test. Any car afterwards has to be tested. You must comply with the allowable limits for your year of manufacture. My car passed its emissions in March 2012 with a cat in it, but completely modified.
