  • pouring!!!! white smoke (coolant) help?

    so weirdest thing just happend, was driving down the road, crusing like 60 k and then i kinda had a bit less power and car sounded almost like a subaru, just weird deep rumbleish sounds. and SOOOOO much white smoke pouring out the back. like i couldnt see the headlights behind me.

    the car didnt over heat driving it back to my buddys. it smelt like sweet coolant smoke. any ideas what could of went? plz help

        coolant in ur cumbustion chamber and out the tailpipers

            well it sure is an rb20. anyways ill just get the tuner shop to take a quick look at it to make sure before i buy anything, but how much for HG

              Speaking from experience that sounds 100% like a blown HG. Had that happen on my previous car.

              Easy fix.

                  If your mechanically inclined enough, grab a cylinder leak tester and pop the rad cap. You more than likely will be able to see bubbles coming from the coolant if its a head gasket failure to your water jackets.

                      RB20's seem to blow head gaskets alot i would look at getting a RB25DET or a RB26DETT to replace and make sure u clean flush and pressure check your radiator change your thermostate and while ya there cam belt idler tensioner bearings cam seals water pump

                          The more reason for everyone on here who hasn't done it to flush their coolant system and replace their thermostats.
                          Overheating is the #1 cause for headgasket failure.
                          Plus the crap they put in there in Japan is disgusting.
