  • Halifax autoport RO-RO?

Anybody know if it's possible to have a car send in halifax instead of vancouver from Japan? Because halifax have a huge ro-ro facility and I was hoping to maybe save some cash on the inland shipping with this.

I can't say I am sure but i highly doubt it. Most cars go to Vancouver because it is a straight shot from Japan there; and it can come by train to the rest of Canada. To go to NS means several weeks more travel by sea; and likely significantly higher shipping costs.

I would suspect that is the case. PM me and I will inquire with a contact I have here.

The only way is to have your exporter in Japan find a ship that is going directly to the east coast. Just take a look at the cars in the holding lots at your local RoRo depot, if you see some Japanese brands, you may be in luck. If you are really lucky, you can make a note of the ship's name and see what port it came from in Japan.
