Oh that reminds me.. I drove past my R32 today! New owner took off the spoiler and de-catted it so it's got exhaust stains at the back now. I miss her the most I'd say Nothing beats the sound and feeling of that wastegate opening...NOTHING!
Current car:
1999 R34 GTR V-Spec
Past cars:
1994 R32 GTR V-Spec II
1998 R34 GTT
1989 Z32 300ZX

Very nice cars! The R34 is my most favorited Skyline.
When were you thinking of coming back? Unless you were thinking soon, Id say wait a few more years and bring your car with you once the ban is off 99 R34s.
Were Skyline's sold in Australia or did they have to import them every time? I know there's a lot there, but Iv only heard of people importing one they really want and located in Japan.
nice try! but with simple bolt ons realistically gtrs are selling for 9-11k maybe even cheaper. just because they are for sale for 15k doesnt mean they ever sell. there are multiple bnr32s for sale right now with owners asking ~10k im sure they will go for less then 9k

Stay safe in that car!
Thanks mate There were 100 R32 GTR's sold in Australia in 1991 to help Nissan meet homologation and enter the R32 GTR in the Group A championship. It dominated so hard in 1991 and then again in 1992 that in 1993 they banned turbochargers. If you can't beat em, ban em!
Apart from that, all Skylines are imported. A lot of hoops have to be jumped through before one can be road registered though. The car has to be inspected by the Department of Transport to make sure it complies with all Australian standards. It must also be returned to stock for this process. Usually "compliance" costs around $5000 on top of car purchase price, 10% tax, shipping and sundries.
The R33 and R34 GTR were UK delivered for a while right? I rememeber there was a Top Gear feature on it :P
Edit: Oh okay.. I just realized you guys are from London, ON. I thought you were England haha

And most of those cheap GT-R's are nothing more than rolling parts cars! Honestly most Canadians don't want to pay for something mint and reliable! Clean examples of R32/R33 GT-R's sell for well over $20000 IN JAPAN. Just sayin!

exactly! a 9k gtr is a POS , IMO . If you want a clean well sorted ,tastefully modded GTR you're paying 12k + ..
what would be the point of paying 20+k for a gtr in japan when you could buy one in canada for 8k and put 12k into it. id rather buy a cheaper gtr and dump money into it. ever heard of bought not built? i have over 25k into my car and there is not much other then the bare shell that is still original since i bought it...
ya i dunno if you've seen my build , theres nothing original about my car..I've changed everything. I live in ONtario cars must go for more here because a nice GTR fetches 10-15 all day.

The thing is, all GT-R's came from Japan! Sure I can buy one for 5-6k but they are bad, real bad! We are talking about crashed, abused, unknown mileage and history cars which should be kept off the road! Ever wondered why so many people on GTRC had blown motors all kinds of problems with their cars?
On a side note, stock, unmolested GT-R's will fetch more money than a modified one here in Japan!
IMHO, spending tons of cash on a car that has been crashed and that have a tired, compromised chassis is plain ridiculous!
It's true. A good GTR can easily fetch about 50% more than a high km/neglected/accident damaged car.
In Japan, low km 2002 R34 GTR NUR's often fetch more than 2007 R35 GTR's at the auctions

your acting as if you cant tell if a chassis is compromised. im agreeing with you that a cheaper gtr may be junk mechanically or may have some electrical issues or what have be but that is irrelevant if you plan on building your car. as long as the chassis is straight and clean id take a cheaper gtr over a more expensive one any day and deal with whatever mechanical problems it has.
