What are the cons to that? If the market expanded I personally believe the aftermarket resources for these cars would increase, and their image would stand out more. People would become more familiar with the Skyline's and Rhd cars.

There is already a massive aftermarket for our cars, with the exception of cheap "OEM equivalent" Chinese made suspension components and other such equipment one could normally get through NAPA.
I think it would just jack our prices up. They don't make these cars anymore, hence there quantity is limited. If you increase demand, the price should go up.

Also there would likely be a lot more deaths due to the potential hazards of operating a RHD, as Canadians seem to be generally more responsible.

While I'm not opposed to someone killing them self because they were doing something stupid, it's just that too often there are innocent lives lost.

Those Yanks have FAR more going for them than we do. Except for health care we get the shaft on just about everything, food, fuel, taxes, consumer goods of all types and help like you wouldn't believe to start a business and make your fortune.
This is pretty much all we have to make them envious.......screw 'em.
Jon.Why don't you come over to MySpace and Twitter my Yahoo untill I Google all over your Facebook.

Wow, you guys are impressive.
I don't think opening up the market to our friends in the US will affect things much. We are talking about a niche car at best. Even if the rhds are permitted south, a healthy, reinvigorated enthusiast scene will open up markets, increase parts accessibility and even development of newer, cost-effective parts.
I think we need to be less protective and more open, especially to people who love the same things as us.

hey who knows, with the law changed and an influx of imports, the american branches of insurance companies could start becoming more familiar with the RHD market and Canadian branches could soon follow.

Bottom line is these cars are getting old, and this is and will always be a niche market. I believe there is a vast export market that can satisfy even the demands of the larger market in the States. Even if there is an increase in price due to demand, I believe the benefits to us will increase overall, as the aftermarket will develop significantly on this side of the world, and also add ammo for our side for the everlasting legal battle that is driving on the wrong side of the road

LOL at the R34 comment. The 34's had the smallest production run and its (arguably) the most sought after of the RB26DETT'd powered GTRs. Prices in Japan are not dropping. Having US buyers on the line won't have much bearing on values. You are dreaming.

I have to agree with the above comment. It seems like an all petition and no further action sort of event. Almost like a group of Facebook protesters who are against a certain thing but never take action past that.
Unless there is word of further action by petition starter(s)?1989 R32 GTS-t (Sold)
