  • What Metal Sealer would you use?

    Hey guys,

I am looking for a metal sealer to do my fender wells/bare metal as I had to do some rust repair.

I have looked what is at the local CT,Napa etc and looked at all the:

    -Rock gaurd
    - undercoat

These dont seem like they will suit my needs and just start rusting agian.

I have been told by a personal friend that Eastwood products work great.... only problem is they do not ship to Canada due to VOC restrictions within the country. Why must all the good **** be out of country??? jk becuase terribad for enviroment I know.
Protect the bottom of your car from slush, road salt and other harsh-weather hazards with DIY undercoating spray and accessories that Do the Job Right.

I am simply asking have you used another product besides the CT brand of uncoat spray can stuff? If so has it seal the metal away. No rust coming back?
Traction is optional, so are zipties

Does that comply with Canadian Vocs? I am geting the run around and unfortunalty the people that have been answering the phones at these places havnt had there coffee or have no Idea what I am talking about.

I just googled Por and I looks like thats exactly what im looking for. Holy expensive but looks like it will do the job.

Thankyou for the quick, usful answer Beacher!

If you look up archaiec_bloke's build thread, he used POR 15 in the wheel wells, the rockers and the exhaust I think.

        Seems like pretty good stuff.

It's pricey stuff but gets the job done bigtime. Just don't get it on your skin or you'll be doing a reverse Michael Jackson...This stuff will never come off haha

Definitely need some of this! I'll have to grab some. Gravel guard isnt the same. This is definitely the way to go if you don't want rust.

Does POR 15 work on aluminum, like the inside of GTR front fenders?

All the high end body shops in the area that we supply use Gravel Guard.

Gravel Guard is just a rubber based undercoating.

POR 15 actually fuses to the metal. Once it's on it's on, you can't take it off. (some dude removed it successfully but had to use aircraft paint remover and sand blasting).

POR 15 is too high end for regular car shops. Nobody really needs this stuff on a car, it's overkill. That's why we like it.

POR 15 needs to be painted over after though.

I'll have to find a local supplier so I can grab some. Anyone know a decent place to get some. I know of a body shop I could grab some from but they are horrible for pricing even on small items

That's because we get the product from the supplier, then markup and sell to the body shop, so they already pay a higher price for the product.

Wonder if we carry this product. I'll check and if we do maybe send you a text..

The info says it bonds to Steel, and I know its really good for that but I still couldn't find anything about aluminum so is it a waste of money for GTR front inner fenders??
