The diff is out and I'm pretty sure we found the cause of the noise.

Very cool. Sounds like it will be a very interesting ride. That's a nice list of cars as well. Make sure to get a lot of video footage!

      Skyline looks great!

Should be very interesting. I think it'll be a good testament to how these cars "can" be reliable. I've got a double header Time Attack the weekend before too.
There will be 2 GoPros and hopefully one other video camera. I'm going to try to get some vid and pics from the time attacks and the drive to Montreal.

Thanks for the compliment. I don't know if I like them as much as my CR-Kais but the weight saving is substantial. I plan on having these wheels refinished again in a much darker colour, either gunmetal or black.

Hey Cory! Yea I expect it'll be together by then. Seals are supposed to be in today but the big issue is the diff carrier bearings. Nissan doesn't make a replacement bearing and the numbers are etched on the inside so you can't get them unless the bearing is removed. Once that's done the bearing is garbage and if I can't get a replacement I'm in a pretty serious pinch. They're trying to determine if the bearings are healthy enough to leave in place.
The guys at Griffin have been great and seem pretty understanding of the challenges of parts acquisitions. Considering the cars they deal with regularly I can't imagine a Skyline is too bad.

Nice clean one mate! Just missing some Nismo aero bits or other aftermarket ones and it would be more handsome. Can't wait for the updates and pix.

Aero bits are nice and I would like to get the N1 side skirts but frankly if they don't make the car work better they aren't a priority.
Will be having some updates soon. The adventure begins this week.
Right now I'm awaiting 1 bearing from Daryl at RightDrive then the diff can go back together.
At this time the shop is putting on my new brakes, brake fluid flush, oil change, installing some poly bushings, corner balance and alignment.
                Will have some pics soon.

As of yesterday the car has had new poly bushings installed, new EBC yellows installed, brake fluid flush, oil changed with Nissan filter and Redline 10w40, and Nismo diff clutch pack is installed and the differential is ready to be installed. Sadly due to parts not making here in time from Japan I've had to install one old bearing. All others are new including all the seals.
The plan for today is installation of the diff, corner balance and alignment followed by hopefully a successful test drive!
Plan is to leave for Montreal around 12:30 am Thursday morning to be at Almasi/Synoptic Tuning for 15:00. The rest of the group is following and leaving later in the morning.
                  Sorry about the iPhone pics.

Not relevant to the thread but also had this installed Friday!

Would've made changing your diff oil easier

Not a complete success on the diff rebuild but it'll be much better than before.
We also decided to remove one of the TWO resonaters. The car was way too quiet.
Should be done tonight assuming no issues on the test drive. NOT looking forward to the bill

If you take your time and keep your eyes and ears open they're actually quite affordable. In my case a shop down the road from me had their lease run out and had to shut down. My wife found it on Kijiji!
The hoist is about 15 years old but had a recent inspection and new locks and cables installed. Got it for $700 delivered.
Install can be expensive HOWEVER, I was at a friends new shop and spoke to the guy who was installing their hoist and he did it during his time off (with company permission) for $250 cash.
You need a minimum of 4" of concrete (I had the pad reinforced to 6") and a ceiling height of about 12'-12.5' Mine is 13.5' and is WAY more than what I need.

... excuse the mess, we JUST moved in. I don't have an oven, stove, washer or dryer... But I've got a mutha phuqin hoist!

The drive to Montreal went without a hitch. The feeling of driving a car for the first time after 3 weeks and after havin so much work done is unnerving but the car ran great and got almost 550 kms to a tank!

Once in Montreal we headed straight to see Robin at Almasi/Synoptic Tuning. Robin is one of the nicest guys you could ever want to meet so aside from getting my tune done and changing my diff oil we chatted for a long time and set my buddies E92 M3 up to see what it could do.
                              My initial#s were 312hp & 283 ft.lbs @ 13 psi.
                              Final numbers were 355hp & 300 ft.lbs @ 14 psi.
VERY pleased with a stock car with a PFC @ boost control.

We spent the day today at Circuit Mont Tremblant meeting the people, checking out cars and meeting out instructers. Of course we moooched a few laps out with some of the drivers.

Tomorrow is an early morning with Teck inspection, a class room session and then right to the track.

                              Wish us luck!
