Having some mental issues, just common logic is having troubles =/

Right now I have 225/45/17 winter tires on my rims,

car will be running within a month... I know this is a dumb question but I need reassurance,

215/45/17 will be fine on the same rim right??

I just can't picture how it would theoretically work lol

It would fit, but they will be stretched slightly.
