sparkplugs, which ones do you use

so i know in the parts thread that the gts-t takes BCPR6EIX-11 but i have heard of people using other plugs, like when i got my motor it had a different set in it. so i was wondering what do you use?

Stock is NGK PFR5A-11 for RB20DET. You usually go one heat range colder (NGK PFR6A-11 and -11 is 1.1mm gap that's regapped to 0.8mm to stop spark getting blown out at higher rpm, boost levels) when fit intake, exhaust, small turbo (hybrid stock turbo) or FMIC mods, because cylinder temps are higher due to leaner A/F ratio. Heat range is usually changed every 75-100hp or when engine runs richer or leaner.

Some use NGK copper tip sparkplugs gapped to 0.8mm and change them alot earlier (every 10,000km or so vs 100,000km for stock platinum sparkplugs).

I remember couple of tuners told me you cannot re-gap 1.1mm plugs to as low as 0.8, because in some cases tips will break. Too dangeruos if it breaks in the cylinder! So why not just buy plugs w/o the "-11" on its code, these plugs are preggaped around 0.8.

If not careful when regapping them. Should only move the ground electrode and avoid touching / damaging the centre electrode, insulator. Platinum sparkplugs on my cars engine have been regapped to 0.8mm from 1.1mm.

RB26, should I go with R5672A-8 or Bcpr6es? I bought some Bcpr6es-11s off you but they were already gapped to 0.8? Anyway just wondering.

I use BCP6ES in my car, that's all. There are a few that will work, everyone has their own opinion on what is best though.

what about expensive 100$ sparkplug, are they any better?

Expensive plugs may last a bit longer but the cost is not worth it IMO. $6 a piece for NGK copper plugs is the best deal around, even if you have to change
them once a year.
I used to use $20 per plug Nismo Iridium's, no noticeable performance difference at all between those and the NGK coppers.
