  • Side GT badge... curious

So in the process of looking for new badges for the side of my car.

I have noticed that there are different colors out there of the badges

I've seen red, green, blue, black, etc

What do they all mean? Do the colors mean something specific or no?

    Thanks all

Series 1 R32 (fully silver with no paint)

Series 2 R32 (white colour on left side with blue G and blue colour on right side with white T and border is left unpainted)

Series 2 sports model R32, which is known as "Type-M" with GTR style steering wheel (S logo instead of GTR logo on horn), sports shocks, LSD, etc (white colour on left side with red G and red colour on right side with white T and border is left unpainted).

Gold badges = 60th Anniversary edition R32 (also were an option from Nissan on series 2 R32). I've only seen one 60th Anniversary edition R32 in reallife (it's that rare outside Japan), but it looks special / different.

Late model V-spec R32GTR (blue G word and T was surrounded with black and border of badge was unpainted).

Never seen green in R32 catalogues, unless it's been repainted that way by owner.

Could be two different badges or fenders from different cars (could have been in a accident).

Have look at Nissan catalogues yourself (click on thumbnails for larger image), and there's Japanese text / breakdown of what the images are in catalogue underneath image that browser should auotmatically translate for you (to english or whatever language you have it set to) -

This is Series 1 R32 GTS catalogue (named Zenki) -

This is Series 2 R32 GTS catalogue (named Kouki) -

R32 optional part catalogue (bodykit, strut bars, wheels, ski racks, drink holders, etc) -

They have towel rack, umbrella holder in trunk and ski racks as optional parts.

Here's the optional gold badges -

This is R32 GTR catalogue (Vspec, etc, named Kouki or series 2 R32 GTR) -

            60th anniversary R32 -

            V-Selection -

            V-Selection 2 -

GTRs only had Red emblems (except for v-spec)

I gather the red badges were because GTS Type-M had some GTR parts. It wasn't just the GTR style steering wheel, the brakes are R32 GTR size on rear 296mm??, just smaller 280mm 300ZX?? front rotors are installed on front + calipers to suit, but can upgrade to R32 GTR front rotors, calipers, etc (bolt on upgrade). Same mods on Series 1 R32 Type-M, but had the non painted badges.
