  • New parts?!?

im a new owner of a skyline, its a 94 gtst rb25det and these are my mods, big intercooler, 3 inch straight pipe to a muffler, mines ecu tuned by a local shop, turbo timer, bov, stage 3 kevlar act clutch and thats about all but what i want to do is I'm thinking a holset hx 35 or hx 40 turbo, with one 550cc injectors and a walbro 255 fuel pump and re tune my ecu .. I'm into diesels so tell me if I'm missing something please! I'm also gonna purchase a gauge piller can't seem to find a triple so if anyone knows where to find one let me know please and for the 3 gauges i will have a air fuel and a boost and also a oil pressure because mine is on the frits.. thanks guys let me know what you think!

    Welcome!

autometer should have a triple gauge pod. The walbro should do it but some people have experienced some issues with it. Tomei, Denso, aeromotive... have bulletproof pumps
My sky got 99 problems but to find bitches ain't one

Once you go sky; Parts you're going to buy...

Thanks I'll check that out.. What will my stock internals hold? Im looking to maybe see 500rwhp if not 450 .. So I think that those upgrades along with some little things will get me there.. What those little things are I don't know yet haha so of anyone knows some reliability helping parts or just key parts for a rb25 let me know

Your on the right track my man
In my opinion id get a Garrett turbo equal to the specs you want
Holset turbos are great but spool is ther Achilles heel. A ball bearing turbo will be the way to go
I love my hx40 but the delay in between shifts to spool back to full boost gets to me. The car still boogies and drives like a rocket, but there is always room for improvement. I think my hx40 would run better if I revved higher but I keepin at 7500 rpm. A good intake manifold / turbo manifold will make the car run better and have a better lower curve. The oem rb25 is a monster, all over the world guys have been runnin them stock and holing up for years. Drifters have jammed oem spec rb25's with bolt ons and are still runnin strong.

I've done 3 full seasons 8 months at a time daily drivin my car and beating on it. Hittin the rev limiter, spinnin tires, shifting hard.... I've come to learn its hard to break these cars. Not like the Honda days. I've done 40,000km on my set up and compression is still 168-175 across all 6 cylinders.*

Here is my link to my YouTube video
My mod list is in the info, hope it helps. Feel free to ask any questions, I've been down that road

^you got it. That was set at 4k rp, pull the ebrake one click and it's activated. At 00:25 is a launch from 4k rpm
At 00:33 seconds It's open throttle hitting te 7k rpm top end limiter
              Shoots some nice flames too

The cheapest way is to install a lock out bar, like pictured below. PM if you need pricing, also have Essential meter holders in stock for R33.

Apex'i Power fc is engine management software. There are many companies that make them, haltec, vipec, ect
The rev limiter does exactly what it says. Limits the rev. Stock on a gtst is 7k rpm
My power fc eliminates the rev limit so I added the Bee R* so I could adjust the limiter
7,500 for the top end, and anywhere from 4k-6k rpm for launches
550 cc injectors might be enough, but I'd go bigger to prevent Macon out the duty cycle of the injectors
Hx40 is close to a gt40, a gt30 will be all you will need

thanks a lot guys! very helpful! a lot of diesel guys get mad when you ask certain questions :S but everyone was here one point!.. i have a mines ecu tuned by motion performance in winnipeg so i could just have that retuned to support the fuel and such correct? also that lockout bar will delete the hicas or just like a bandaid where it'll stop the turning but ill have to remove a bunch of things later..?

You can remove the hicas, block the lines and put in the lock out bar
Or get a driftworks or Cusco kit that replaces the hicas arms and comes with brackets.

Once you start tightening up all the suspension components, the quality of your subframe bushings will be revealed
They are known to turn to poo and cause a shaky unpredictable rear end

Make sure you resetup car afterwards (at least a bigger rear swaybar or Whiteline swaybars front and rear), as HICAS helps to eliminate understeer with stock suspension setup.
