Meh...my car was $8500 landed. Is it a little rough around the edges? Sure. A pile of nails? Hardly. Trouble free-ish (minor stuff) in 4 years and a legit 9 second car. Research and a little luck goes a long way.

Why don't you come over to MySpace and Twitter my Yahoo untill I Google all over your Facebook.

Only the GTR's are uber expensive...

R34 GTT's are cheap like 8 to 12k for a very nice example at J-auction currently.

I'm looking at importing the 34 GTT Sedan eventually as my next daily car... But my current 33 sedan is so mint overall... It'll last a long time.

I'd imagine that GTR34 in rough condition would still run you $20K+ and thus not really worth it considering the money being spent...

Depends on your definition of "rough". Japanese rough is still a pretty damn good car over here (my car was considered scrap), Canadian rough is a parts car over there (again, mine). My car has mostly cosmetic stuff, no accidents and a pooched interior due to sun fading and vinal peeling. To most people that is a major turnoff, me, I could care less. It's a 23 year old 100% rust free car that can run 9s.

I would scoop up an R43 track mule with a few bumps but an undamaged unibody and all the boltons that comes with it for $18k landed in a heartbeat, others...not so much. It's all personal preferences. I've had show queens, hated them both. Couldn't enjoy them nearly as much as a car that has some scars.

if only Quebec wasn't such an ass about imports

i'd go from my Viper to a BNR34 for sure, GTT? nan

ratio of R34 in Canada will be about 1:100 (GTT to GTR) maybe even more, seeing how people can't budget 15-20k for a mint R33 GTR, I don't see a ton of R34 GTR being bought up when they will be 30k+ landed

R34 GTR 34k landed and on the raod through Right Drive according to a member on JDMR...

As long as I only have room for one vehicle... I won't bother with a GTR. 30k km / year devalues a car sooo fast, regardless of how well you maintain it. GTST or GTT is amazing bang for the buck.

Sounds about right. I've been seeing nice ones go for 2,500,000 JPY which would come out near that cost. That's one with moderate/low miles and grade 4 or 4.5

In the GTA NEXTMOD is already advertising preorders for BNR34s. There is a market out there for high end (read expensive) RHDs, and the R34 has cachet written all over it. Face it, a lot of R32 lovers found their way to the car not because they lusted for the R32 back in 1989 (when most were toddlers) but because they've wanted one since Gran Turismo or FnF2 when they saw the R34. I'm expecting a fair number will get here and the owners will be a little different from the R32 and R33 market. It's just natural.

All I have to say is I hope I get one before 2024 (if I haven't stated that already), cause when that day comes it will be impossible to get one (US population going nuts).
                        Victory is on the horizon..

I've been eyeing up evo x's, but for another couple thousand a bnr34 would be pretty darn awesome.
Considering how many EvoX are on the lot still i'd say go for it. Practically brand new with discounts. No worries about it being pushed hard. Apart from automatic/paddle its a fun ride and great platform, best 4cylinder motor in existance. The only downside I see to it apart from gearbox is that the poor thing doesn't compare aestheticially to the previous gens. :<
