  • Wheels. Keep these and refinish, or ditch 'em..?

    Hey everyone,

Just need opinions on my wheels. These aren't too common on GTR's, I've only seen pics of maybe 3 or 4 on here with these.
I'm torn as to keeping them, and possibly refinishing them, making the centre part/spokes gunmetal. They are in good shape though other than some nicks around the lug holes, which are covered anyways.
Or.....obviously, selling them and getting something different.
Was never a fan of this design before but it started to grow on me a bit since buying this car.

They are the Advan SA3R, version II in 17x9 +22. Rubber is 255/40 which I would keep as they're brand new. Here's a couple pics of how they look/fit on the car:

If I sold them, I'd lean towards something like the BBS style on the Vspec's but a little beefier, or something in the TE37/LMGT4 style. Prob in a gunmetal or bronze..
^^These all seem to be rather common but I've always liked the look.
I've looked endlessly at most of your KH2 GTR's on here, and everywhere else, but still undecided.

I know the fitment I'd want (17x9 +12, or 17x9.5 +22), so this is just an opinion thread but feel free to post pics of yours if you have a gunmetal GTR!!
Maybe should have titled this --- all different wheels on KH2 GTR's...

    Opinions??

I don't mind the advans but they wouldn't be my first choice. I would see what you could get used before buying new as most multi piece wheels are special order and take 4-6 months to receive.

I used to have bronze nismo lmgt4's 17x9.5 +12 fit perfect.

And now I got SSR SP1's 18x11 -1 and 18x9.5 +18, needs body work but I think the deep dish compliments the widened fenders on a gtr.

Personally, they don't look quite right. It is a matter of taste though, so if you like them yourself, keep them.

i personally love the SA3Rs but only in 18"s, with big brakes and darker paint i think they would look amazing

i used to have the same wheels but in 17x8+35. they do grow on you after a while but honestly im loving my new wheels way more to ever go back. 17x9.5+15
i think if my SA3R's had more agressive fitment i would have never ditched them.

                    Thanks for the replies guys!

@caliber - HOT DAMN, I love your car. Your build thread has me in awe every time I check it out.
Those professors are damn nice, but I'm just lookin to fit as much as posssible without fender work. Unless my body guy suprises me, hmmm.....

@MKIV - I had that thought as well. Depends on $$ in the upcoming months of course, car is going in the spring for paint so $$ going there too...plus I may only get to 1 or 2 track days a year cause of my damn work. lol

@nick-nismo - Pics like that make me want to keep them. lol. that size fitment was decent for a GTS by the looks of it, I'm sure you had to mod a little for the new wheel size but bet it looks great. My GTST had 17x8 +30 and fit nicely w 235/45 without any work

@gtrjohn - what sizing are those ccw's? off topic - how did your paint turn out around the glass? Especially the 1/4 windows. I've been debating on removing the front/rear/quarter windows for paint or not, and it doesn't look like you did...

Keep em coming guys! So far it seems these are a "love it or hate it" wheel.

Really leaning towards something like these:

Anyone know what manufacturers, in addition to BBS, make this style wheel in a good GTR fitment?
Don't think the 1st pic is BBS....

I think those are both bbs wheels, one has a black center cap the other has the red. Big money for those wheels! But really nice

Hey Rix check out Varrstoen wheels. He makes an exact replica of the BBS LM, they are a good price and really good quality wheels. 900 bucks is much better than 1600
