  • Looking to import an R32. Need Advice

I want to import an r32 to Edmonton but I can't decide which model. I was thinking the r32 gtst type m. I'm only looking to spend around 5K. Help!!! Any thoughts? What's the best year? Any other models I should consider? I'm only looking at r32

There's lots for sale locally, have you looked at those?

Might give you a better idea of what you want to buy after seeing the car first hand.

Everyone wants way too much for one here. Plus I don't want a pos that some 16 year old bagged.

Shipping, duty, inspection and other random fees will swallow up half of your 5k pretty fast. I have imported several cars, only one GTR, these days unless it was something rare I would just get one that's already landed.

My friend just imported a subaru impreza version 4 Sti type R, in September is when he won the car for ~3000$Can i believe and by the time it landed in December he had payed almost 9000$Can for a car he only had 3 pictures of any you would also have to have the car shipped to you, where as we live on the coast, the car was dropped of on the roll on roll off port. I'd say buy a local one and if you love the car then maybe think about importing one.
Edit: Everyone beats a skyline, be it here or over in Japan haha. and for 5000$ all your looking at are r32 gtst, and a gtr if you wait long enough

If I was you I would consider the GTiR that is for sale on here, already in Alberta, that is one of the coolest cars I have seen for under 5k

Yea or even a 240sx and if your budgets 5k buy a RB series motor and swap it in, that way you wont be paying an arm and a leg for insurance like me haha
Edit: also try maybe going some where else in Canada if people locally want to much :P

****. Well I found an importer here that will ship a 94 GTS25t Type M for $5600 delivered. I am a little flexible on my price but I ain't paying no 10k. I need something for summer that is fun to drive but won't bankrupt me.

just wait till spring comes, that when you will probably have the most luck because people put their projects and cars away for the winter and when spring some's they might have to sell it or don't have the time for the car.

and also be sure to do some background research into you importer, they might be nice but there are people out there that might take your money and run. but just because he says he can get you it at that price today doesn't mean that he will get it when you have your money. when my friend was importing there were some un expected costs he told me about, one was the coolant needed to be flushed and i forget the other thing he told me
Ps. typing with one arm sorry if theres some mistakes, just had surgery on my shoulder.

Import concern imports some pretty crap cars.
If you talk to the right person you can get one for 5 landed in good shape.
A lot of the r32s are older and people want r33s and now that its 2013, r34 gts-t's.
You can get a solid low km gts-t for fairly cheap. The only thing about buying local is that all of the prices are way over-inflated. R32 GTS-t's are going for the same price they did 5 years ago with half the km's on them. Its outrageous. OP should look at JDM connection as a possible importer. William is a good guy.

Spencer Hogg has some wicked deals if you look into boss imports. I know him personally and ive seen the stuff he brings over and its always great condition for awesome prices

My skyline is for sale for 5000 on stock suspension r32 with a rb25det. As of now its off the market until i figure out a little idle issue but it`s a mint car other then that. Pm me if you have any questions ( my car is the first one on the link there.) He can give you links as well to find a car in japan if he doesn`t have anything you like
