  • C's short shifter thread size

I recently purchased a genuine C's short shifter from a member here. After installation i went to thread on my shift knob and it wouldnt go. Started to turn but after about a 1/4 turn it stopped. Wtf it doesnt work. Worked fine on my stock shifter but not this one. So i tried a honda shift knob which is 10x1.5. Didnt work. I am stumped as to what the thread pitch is. Did C's make different versions or something? Any help would be great

what kind of shift knob is it ,i had the same happen but inside the hole it had a screw that adjusts the height like a stopper adjustment
or if its the thread you could always retap the knob or the shifter thread

I have a C's shifter and my knob threaded on. Might've taken a bit more torque to twist on about half way from what I remember.

i have tried a blox 490 that is 10x1.25, stock 350z knob, honda knob. The previous owner said he had a 10x1.25 knob on there with no problem. After about a 1/4 turn i cant turn the knob anymore. i didnt want to force it and wreck the thread. If i take a die and try even tho there are thread on the shifter already. will that be fine?

measure the diameter and use a thread pitch gauge to find out what pitch the thread is then you'll know for sure. search on google to figure out how to measure fasteners.

if the shifter and knob are the same size then run a die over the shifter to clean the threads

I have the same problem. I just installed mine and no shift knob will fit. The size is 11X1.25. Which is ridiculous!! Been told there's no such thing. I wanted to get a TWM shift knob but they can't even make a custom one for it.

If you find one that fits let me know and I'll do likewise.

i got a thread pitch of 1.25 and used a caliper to get just under 10mm. What i am currently doing is using a 12mm nismo knob with alittle bit of masking tape on the shifter threads.
