  • New clothes and new shoes. What do you think of my GTR makeover?

Hey all, I've had my GTR a little over a year now, and have spent most of that time revivng her from previous owners goofy mods, and getting the original fading paint re-done.
Car was/is in excellent shape mechanically, having just undergone an engine rebuild pretty much to OEM specs.
She had some goofy, not-well-done mods from the previous owner who lucky for me didn't have it very long due to insurance issues. (go figure)
I found it to be a great base to start with so I scooped it up. For a great price too.
Shortly after, I sold my GTST to a great new owner. Things worked out great for both of us!!

Figure it's time to post up the product, with some pics.
It is in no way as thorough as, lets say, caliber676's body work.....but hey it's a driver.

Car has the following now, some things have changed over the year but this is how she ended up as of now:
(still need bigger injectors and a tune to get to my 500 crank, (425 wheel hp) goal.

    Engine and drivetrain:

RB26 rebuilt to OEM R33 specs (no more crank/oilpump issue) with the exception of a metal headgasket/ARP studs.
Steel-wheeled rebuilt OEM twins, running .9-1 bar without resitrictor (no boost controller)
Full exhaust (unknown brand but sounds great) from turbo's back including decat.
Tomei fuel pump, new OEM FPR.
    Timing kit with Nismo belt.
    HKS intakes
Almost all sensors replaced for maintenance sake.
    Cleaned and balanced OEM injectors.
Running chipped ECU from Japan, leaving until my new injectors/tune time.
F1 Racing 6-puck clutch. (suprisingly good for the price)
    All Royal purple fluids.

    Brakes/Suspension, etc.

    Hawk Ceramic Pads
    DBA/EBC slotted rotors.
Fresh brake fluid - Motul something don't remember the number
    Eibach springs over Bilstien dampers
    Nismo FUCA's
    F & R unknown brand tower bars
    Various new bushings as needed
17x10 +20 Varrstoen rollers with 255/40 Yokohama rubber.

    Body:

Fresh paint in OEM KH2 color
Clear sidemarkers (still undecided if I ike the look)
    Nismo style hood lip
    Nismo style rear lip spoiler
    Nismo style side skirt extensions
    Nismo decal kit (subtle....no worries..)
    Trust Gracer rear bumper spats

Here's a few pics. Spent some coin on this car in the past year, and I think it turned out great.

Pics beside my old GTST....new owner loves it and taking great care of her!!

    Pics at various angles...

With my dad's shark, and uncles 73 Benz at the Sarnia Street Machines car show:

Was gonna do this R35 color when I repainted, but glad I didn't. Too light.
Also, even though the R35 is a monster, I still like the R32 much better!!!....

    My near-future mods include:

    External oil cooler/relocation kit
555cc or maybe 650cc injectors (modest 425-430whp goal)
    Tune
    Hicas delete

    Opinions/comments/constructive criticism welcome!!

Ooops. Was intending to post this in build threads.

Daryl or mods can move it, if you deem necessary.

Wheels are Varrstoens, the model is ES331. 17x10 +20
I loved the look and sizing, and not actually sure what wheels they are a copy of, assuming like most Varrs, they are a copy.
If I track this thing after the tune is done, I'll likely use lighter/stronger wheels with track rubber. Even though these came in at 20lbs and seem to be constructed well I'll use something forged for the track.

Yea. You'll want 17s for the track.

Looks great Rick! I think the only thing that could set this off even more is the oem amber corners, I find that to be one of the cars main trademarks
                  Victory is on the horizon..

Was thinking about that Ryan. Haven't decided Wetherby I like the look if the clear or not. Might try the smoked ones, or just go back to OEM.

                          I like.

GTR badge looks to be in the wrong spot. I think is closer to corner of trunk lid. Apart from that it looks perfect. Avatar photo tells me that.

                            Good eye!
My body guy lined it up with the trunk keyhole when he reinstalled it. Haven't grown the balls to take it off the new paint and move it...
