  • R34 GT-FOUR Questions

Hey guys and girls, so recently I picked a 98 Skyline GT-Four. It has the Rb25de non turbo NEO with a 5 speed AWD Transmission. I don't know alot about the car and I've searched for days but there is very little info about them online.

Long story short, I hate being captain slow and I need a turbo. My question is:

Would the AWD oil pan of my car bolt up to an rb25det NEO out of a GTT and what are other options for a turbo swap beside an rb26. Thx for the help and sorry if this was posted in the wrong section, I'm new to the forums.

The Plan is to keep AWD and have a turbo.
    Thx,

    Noah.

I also know nothing about this subject but am kinda curious why you couldn't just use an exhaust manifold/intake and everything I between from a rb25det neo for your car? Presumably same engine just different manifolds wouldn't it be cheaper?

You will never do better than just waiting for the right car to come along. Putting a turbo motor in that car (yes, you should do the whole motor, not just slap a turbo on it) is just throwing money out of the window.

Anytime you pour large sums of money into a car is throwing money out the window. If you love the car and you're willing to make the commitment than your better be prepared for the loss.
          Good luck with your project!
... and Dragon Humper is right. Your best bet will certainly be a motor/harness/ecu swap.

I'm going to go against the flow on this one and say trunk the na engine. Look on gtroc and sau de+t is quite common and will hold decent power for an na motor

I've thought about grabbing a r34 gt4 as they are stupid cheap and awd without paying gtr money. throw a 26 in there and you have a r34 that is far superior to any gtt and a third of the money of a bnr34

Any 4wd manual Rb gearbox (r32/r33/r34) bolts straight into tbat, and you don't need to change the gearbox X member or drive shafts, unlike when of do a manual Coversion on a rwd skyline. You will need to use the speedo drive from your auto trans if you use an r32 gtr/gts4 box, as they have a mechanical speedo drive.

Engine conversion your easiest solution is an engine is an rb25det out of a late model rs4 c34 Stagea, these are neo, 4wd, and obviously turbo.

The oil pan from a 4wd Rb engine will NOT fit a rwd motor, although you can get adaptor plates to get around this.
