How much power do police crusiers usually have?

I'm not sure about how much power cop cars have, I can tell you they're slow as balls though. Couple years ago the OPP and Kingston City Police brought a cruiser each out to Shannonville to promote safe racing and all that blah blah blah... OPP ran around 16.0 and Kingston City Police ran around 16.5... Yeah, I'm sure they have lots of power... And open diffs, hehe, peg leg burnouts are funny...

the crown vics, are close to stock. i remember seeing a show on discovery pitting police cars from around the world against each other. i also vaguely recall some had decommissioned corvette engines i believe? perhaps thats speculation, i think the impalas are stock 3.5 l with around 200hp. lol so basically a whole lotta speculation

Today, the tech from my workplace asked me were I got my car from and I explained it was from Japan and that they were never made over here and then he asked me if it was the same one from the tv show he saw a few nights ago were "some guys hooked it up to a laptop and got 1000hp out of it".

I didn't feel like explaining that that show got its facts mixed up so I just went along with it. I almost felt bad about lieing but it was too funny and he should have known better since he is from Australia. afterwards a customer who overheard the conversation talked to me about my car and whatnot, I don't know, mabey you are on here?

but yeah, thats my story, haha. Does anyone have a link to this clip from that show everyone seems to have seen but me?

most but not all, id give a guess and say 50% of city cruisers and 80% of highway cruisers

the cop cars that are super charged and put about 400hp down... prolly at the crank

but you also have to take into consideration that they weigh a TON

the undercover cars are usually the ones that are faster due to them having less equipment to lug around... and then they have the odd performance car to use...

1 thing to remember is that these cars while tweeked out are not boasting with huge numbers because there reliability would go down, and then it wouldnt be a cost effective system...

i really doubt that many are supercharged. my dad is a police officer and he said the dodge magnum they have is their fastest vehicle.

Not sure about the power of a regular city cruiser but I do know that the power of the black highway charger is in excess of 400whp....

the police magnums and chargers are only the 5.7 hemi's. not even the srt-8's. the crown vic's and impala's are slow as hell though. they are super over rated. i was told they had 500hp and i just started laughing.

this is pretty funny... the other day i went to my dads house because he told me my little 8 year old brother got in an argument with his teacher and called him a name that got him sent home for the day. so anyways this is what happened.... my brother brought in his model gtr for some reason and the teacher saw it and asked my brother if he knows where its from, so my brother says ya its from japan, so the teacher proceeds to argue with my little brother that because the steering wheel is on the right hand side that its from europe, so my brother says no my brother has one and he imported it from japan. remember this is my just turned EIGHT year old brother. so this is the funny part, the teacher then asks my brother if I had the chip put in, my brother said ya he has a chip, the teachers then says is it the chip that gives the car 1000 hp, thats when my brother say, " hahaha you're a f*&^%$$ retard, there is no chip that just gives you that!" so after all the arguing that the teacher did with my little brother the eight year old outsmarts the teacher and gets the rest of the day off school. lol

Its funny I dont get as many noob reactions as I used to get 4 years ago with my first GTR.

I remember I caused an accident on the 401westbound the day I drove it home from the shipping yard.. some guy in a silver civic went flying by me on the highway and had his head completely craned back while he drove by me.. by the time he saw that traffic had stopped in front of him it was too late and he rear ended the car in front of him.

Back then I was like a bloody traveling circus or something.. now everybody has seen one... but you still get the odd noob once in a while.

IE :
I did have a guy at my buddies shop tell me that my car was really mint and since it only has 45km on it I could probably get as much as $10k for it if I wanted to sell it.
I just kept quiet cus I didn't know who the hell this guy was and why he felt the need to tell me this cus at this point I hadn't done anythign other than walk into the shop.
Then he tells me how he has a 700hp nissan 240sx that would walk all over both my cars (I have a tweaked FD that I had parked at my friends shop too) .. I am like "oh thats nice". then he tells me that he has put over $15,000 into it and that the 240 is the best car in the world to modify and if I want to get serious I should sell my cars and get a 240 because it has better "geometry" than any car ever made. I just replied that they are really nice cars and that I had one in university.

then he goes on and tells me that he knows the market and that there are tons of them in the autotrader from $9-12,000.
At that point I kind of had to say something so I very polietly ask him If he has ever seen a $9-12,000 skyline? He replied that he has seen tons of them... so I was like have you seen them in real life?... he was like no but I have seen them in the autotrader... I just smiled and said you might want to go and look at them in real life then tell me what my car is worth. lol
