-Stories- People acting like n00bs

I'm sure a most of you have stories of people acting like noobs because of the car you drive. Whether it be ppl trying to 'outdrive' your car whilst you drive normally down the road to people sharing their stupendously incorrect 'vast knowledge of your car'. Lets hear em.

About a week ago i had some fat bald loser in an IROC try to race me on the highway for about 15mins, ripping by me putting on 4-ways, falling back, shaking his head like "pshh you aint got enough to beat this" (he did this at least 4 times in a row), tailgating like a mofo, flashing brights. He tried anything except ramming me to get me to race. His car was a real heap.

I had the same thing happen once too, oddly in a black camaro but this one was a very new and very modified sounding SS. It was in rushhour traffic and the bonehead tried everyting he can to start something. Face it, its a new car in the scene and everyone wants to know what all the hype is.

I also had one guy ask me once if he can drive it to try the rhd out. I flatly told him and and he acted like it was an unusual response.... :roll:
Mostly though, being one of the first GTRs in he country, all I got were admiring stares and thumbsups. A lot of people couldn't believe what they were seeing and asked if it was illegal.

Worst experience was on a local board where some ass in an S4 kept trashing my car and said he would spank it if I ever had the balls to step up to the plate. He even made it to GTRC where he was thoroughly banned.

Well for me it was 3 guys in a 4 honda accord with an intake and fart can on it. He kept edging forward and what not (this was on the highway with surprising little volum) downshifting and so on. He finally downshifted and pulled ahead, all be it not to fast at all , and I finally had enough. So while still in 5th gear I caught up beside him, let off the gas so my SSQV bov went off, all there faces dropped and I continued past them on my way. They did'nt try anything again after that .

Ok yeah we were doing maybe 160+ but it all ended as soon as it started and then I slowed back down, continued on my way to work and drank my coffee .

I haven't seem to have had the same experienes as everyone else. I get the typical stares and such, but I've NEVER had anyone try to race me. Probably a good thing the way I look at it.

Infact I've never had anyone do anything stupid to me on the road. I've had TONS of weird questions like "Is that a conversion" (2 people asked that now) and the "Is that Legal" and then there was the old dood who asked if it was from england...

Ive had numerous hondas try and race me, MR2-T's but the best was when a cop here in Calgary pulled me over. I was driving along Macleod Trail and they pulled me over pretty much just to talk about the car. I informed them of the 15 year old rule and the down sides of RHD (drive throughs, parellel parking etc.) and then they just left me alone. I just laughed it off, i dont mind talking to a cop if they are being civilized about things.

Like Mcnab i have had ppl ask me if it was a converted car, for some reason they think that there is a kit to make a 240sx RHD and look like a skyline. there might be a kit too make it look like a skyline but the rhd part is just stupid

I have had a few ppl ask to race me and i flatly decline and tell them i have better thing to do, they seem to kinda mad when u say that...meh

but other then that i have gotten a few thumbs up and stuff like that, one guy in an old Ke71 that was all moded gave me the thumbs up but cus i was to the right of him he had to lean right over to do so just looked funny

Quite a few people staring, other people asking what motor it has or how much power (my answer now is "enough for me").

As for racing, haven't really had anyone try to race me except for a few bikes, but when I tried to go with them, they saw the speed of my car and then back down (i thought it'd be a decent race though). Oh well, i've had some friendly competitions within the family.

i'm calling BS all the way on that one. stock 600cc crotch rockets can pull 11sec quarter mile runs and most of the damage is done at the start.

if you can pull on a gsx-r (doesnt even have to be a 1000cc, take a 750) from a stop, both in first gear, then cudos to you my man, you most likely have the fastest skyline on these boards.

I forgot about another interesting one I had. I was at a major intersection behind some car filled with a bunch of teenagers. Anyway, they're turning left at this intersection so they're in the middle of the intersection waiting for a gap in the oncoming traffic so they can turn. I guess one of them in the rear seat spots what's behind them. So ALL of them INCLUDING the driver turn around and start looking at me. AT first I figured they'd just glance then turn back around, but all of them KEEP looking at me (again including the driver) when they're in the middle of the intersection turning left. The light goes yellow, then red and they're STILL in the middle of the intersection. Finally the driver turns back around and gets through the intersection after the light had already been red for about 4 seconds and the other lights had already gone green.
