I informed them of the 15 year old rule and the down sides of RHD (drive throughs, parellel parking etc.) and then they just left me alone. I just laughed it off, i dont mind talking to a cop if they are being civilized about things.
parallel parking is an advantage, i find it WAY easier

I agree with the parallel parking. It's a breeze. I get the double takes everywhere. I really enjoy the extra interest that the cops are taking. I haven't been pulled over yet but they enjoy following me around.

i'm calling BS all the way on that one. stock 600cc crotch rockets can pull 11sec quarter mile runs and most of the damage is done at the start.

if you can pull on a gsx-r (doesnt even have to be a 1000cc, take a 750) from a stop, both in first gear, then cudos to you my man, you most likely have the fastest skyline on these boards.
My car should be pulling low 11's, i've heard if people hitting high 10's with my numbers, 548whp @ 16psi on pump gas. I'd love to try a good 750 if I had some race gas and was running 30psi

In sushtsi's defence, I've witnessed first hand a fully worked Eagle Talon smoke a gsxr 600 in a race. It totally shocked the hell out of me and if I had'nt seen it with my own eyes, I would have never believed it.

From what I heard the Talon was running 20psi ish, fully worked motor and no NOS, took the bike by almost a full car length too.

Every honda kid who saw my car asked first how much I paid.

This, completely pisses me off. It is none of your buisiness.

I told one dude I paid 35 grand ( just to see his reaction )

He answered : " Dude, you got screwed ".

All this while taking a seat in his station wagon suzuki esteem.

I wanted to rip his head off. He left the scene with his head between his legs.
Guy : "Dude ! hown much did you pay for your car ?"
Me : "And how much did you pay for your girlfriend ?"

I was driving through a mall parking lot and slowed down to let a person in a wheelchair (about 35-45 years of age) cross with her husband pushing her (she wasn't paralized or anything, I think that it was a weight issue thing). After she crossed the lane they both looked at me to thank me for slowing down... fair enough. Then, after she realized that I was on the other side of the car she proceeded to yell at me about how it was the most stupid thing that she has ever seen and "why would anyone want to drive on the otherside of the car, what were you thinking". Her husband knew that it was a Skyline and a GTR and actually told his wife to "shut-up" and to "mind her business". Once I passed them the I herd the husband ask his wife "Do you have any idea what that was, look what we drive!!"

its too bad most of these stories tend to revolve around the RHD issue (which i know is inevitable) and not the car itself. I'd much rather have the skylines known for the quality and character than just being that speedy RHD car

That was just one experience that I have had. Most of the other ones have been positive reactions of the car. For instance, I've had two guys on choppers say that what I had was an amazing vehicle both on seperate occasions (sp?) and both while driving down the road.

The other day the girl and I were driving home and spotted a muscle car show and shine. Now I'm not big on domestics but the gf likes em so we stopped in. We parked and got out. I didn’t bother locking the door because we were right there and would only be a sec. I look back 2 min later and the car is surrounded, people ignoring the old school and crowding around the Skyline. I was afraid a few of the teens were gonna try to get in. Next time I’ll lock the doors, I spent too much time maken sure they weren’t getting in and missed all the cars. I thought it would be rude "excuse me, move away, I have to lock you hooligans out" LOL.

I had something similar happen. I was at the movie theatres and had left the car and was walking away. By the time I got to the end of the parking lot I looked back and there was a group of 5-7 kids standing around the car. Im already paranoid enough of this thing being stolen or vandalized, so I dont' for the life of me trust some punk kids standing around my car. So I paged the car to set off the panic for a few secs and watched them all briskley walk away....Im sure they were completely harmless and I may have been a jerk for doing so, but I really DO NOT trust punk teenagers anywhere near my car. Unless im standing right beside it...

It's amazing the amount of cars that are stolen, vandalized or tampered with in my area. My bro's GF was vanadalized TWICE for absolutly no reason (completely bone stock 89 civic). Once they kicked all the panels, the next time they walked ALL over the hood and ROOF of the car....

There's a lot kids that have nothing better to do than take their anger out on other peoples prized possesions.

If the seats folded back all the way I'd sleep in the damn thing. I still need to get a car alarm/keyless entry. I have a few small more pressing parts to get. (Damn passenger side vent lol) Need Adam to hurry back.

This is the truth and it scares the hell outta me. You can set up like fort knox to prevent a theft, but if some 15 yr old whose convinced the world doesn't understand him goes and listens to 4 hours of marilyn manson and then decides to go car trashing, they aren't much you can do to prevent it if its anywhere but in your garage
