Well this story is relevent to your thread so i just dont want to make a new one and waste even more space, My uncle has a ford torino Cobra that he just recently rebuilt, and he was under the suspision that the shop that was doing the engine and interior was driving it around, because when my uncle would get the car back there would be small stones melted into his tires, and dirt on his brand new 3,000CAD paint job. So we did this, when we turned the car in we took a picture of the odometer next to his drivers license and informed them if even 1 more km goes on were calling the buisness beurea(sp?), we also took measurements of how dead the tread was ebcause every time my uncle got it back the tread kept seeming to get worn away, and awe thought that was it. BUT when i stayed the night at his house we decided we were boared to go to a thing they have in winnipeg called sunday night cruising( I was on vacation at the time im from t.o) and were waiting at the red light for some sweet cars. GUESS WHAT PULLS UP NEXT TO US. My uncles torino cobra, the head mechanic is driving it !!. We dont stop him immediately we follow him for a bit. He peeled out a total of four times and attempted to race a charger R/T we followd him back to his house with the police on the phone and confronted him. he had nothing to say and was charged alot thanks to me and my cell phone cam, so he got theft, and wreckless driving.
and for those of you who care here is the car

A couple months later the news spread and his shop went out of buisness. You have to press on these inds of shop just because what might have happened

Well, I think we should all have an option from Nissan where we can install one of those chip-activated ignition locks. My dad's '02 Dakota has one. If its the master key, the car will start, if its the copy, it'll start, but the security light will blink, and after 10 seconds, the engine cuts off.

Or, maybe, they should invent a clutch and shift lock, where you can't depress the clutch pedal and shift the car out of neutral or 1st gear.
Doing things right is never cheap, and doing things cheap is never right...

That sounds like an amazing idea I believe you should get that a copy right or patent for it cause think about it some one steals your car and cant put it in gea there not going anywhere, but it should have different setting like with the computer so you can say only allowed to shift into 1st when u leave it

Heh, I have no idea where to get a patent or copyright. And even worse, I wouldn't have a clue where to start designing a real-life version of that idea!

Its calle a PowerFC. Drop the Rev limiter to 2500 and unhook the controller. If they take your car out there not going too fast.

Werd, I set mine to like 1500 rpm so they know they arent going anywhere before they even try to go anywhere....2500 rpm could cause problems if they try to pull out infront of traffic...1500 rpm your not going anywhere at all.

Your right, im not. I realize you have answered a few times but I still want to know the name of the shop, and I will keep asking. I am pissed off as should eveyone else on here. You came on here saying there is this bad shop out there that ****** you over, yet you won't tell us the name of the shop, Its like one of my friends telling me, hey man I just got HERPE-GONA-SYPHA-AIDS from this chick you probably know, but im not telling you who.

what donk should do is just claim it on insurance, have the shop charged and if they are lucky they will keep their business, this is serious ****.. You guys think its all good to set a rev limiter and that your all good and safe.. shops can get around that no problem, and even if they didnt and still drove your car around with a 2500 rpm limit or something its still theft and something horrible can still happen, and if caught they should still get the full bendover, because they thought they could bend you over, karma kills.

Either way, I believe EVERYONE should know the name of the shop especially since it doesn't seem they even fixed the damage caused to donks GTR yet..

                                any updates?

I would try for a new engine straight from a Nissan JPN dealer.
