  • A-Pillar pod

    Hey Everyone.

In the interest of fitting some more readily avaliable parts, along with some gauges i understand ops:

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells a tripe pillar pod for the R32?

Id like to fit 52mm or 2 1/16" gauges, preferably a complete a-pillar, as the screw on ones look kinda haggard. Only ones ive seen fit 60mm gauges

    All help greatly appreciated.

there are no triple pods for the R32, only a double. Trust makes one of the better ones. The only triple pod is that one that goes over the left side of the dash cluster.

Thanks guys. Didnt realize autometer made a double. Will just have to mount my other 3 in the stock console location.

Going to look into them, if anyone could make it easier for me and knows of a 52mm/ 2 1/16" console gauge pod, that would be awesome

What do you guys think of these? These should work for my extra 3 gauges?

Id basically flip it to face the RH side

          Planning on running:

          Boost
          A/f Wideband
          F/P
          EGT
          Oil Temp

Well, after a bunch of research and looking around, ive come to the conclusion to just build my own.

Cant seem to find any reasonably priced 52mm gauge pods, or 60mm gauges

Got a fair bit of fibreglass experience and a bunch of fibreglass cloth and resin, so why not.

Going to make up my own dual or triple pod, then ill do up my own triple pod to go into the stock DIN location.

Ive decided to run Autometer C2 Gauges, final selection

            Boost
            Fuel Pressure
            Water Temp
            Exhaust Gas Temp
            Oil Temp

All will be imperial which i can understand (Coming to imports from domestic cars :-P ) Ill post up progress.....soon.

On a further note. JDM Defi, Trust etc gauges are expensive as fuc*!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some electronic gauges come with 30sec needle playback (datalogging), adjustable warning light, peak recall. All of thse features can be accessed via a control module instead of being built into gauges like the older versions. I guess with control module, sensors, etc, it makes them expensive.

Also I learnt to not mount a gauge on A pillar, as when window is opened while raining, gauge can get wet. Electrics + rain = bad combination. Mount gauges in centre of car if you can.

You can buy a 3 gauge pod that sits above centre aircon vents for R32 GTS, GTR from Japan.

This is similar, but different style from Australia -

Then mount 2 smaller gauges on a wing pod that mounts to dash, near steering wheel.

This is a wing pod on left side of steering wheel -

hi i just bought my r32 skyline and im loving every second f it its crazy! the only thing i got to sort out is some good gauges because the ones i got look like they been thrown in, i need new oil pressure, oil temp and boost gauges. any one got pics of how they have set there's out? thanks...

Another way is to mount 3 gauges in the glove box.

That one interior on the UK site is damn sexy.

I like the idea of the glove box mounted gauges for one that arnt needed to be monitored at all times.

There is a business on this forum that is selling a carbon fibre plate with holes cut for gauges, etc, that fits in gearbox.

This is what that same car with wingpod (UK forum) drives like (600hp) -

                  This is a 2 gauge wing pod on a R32GTR racecar -

This is 4 gauges in centre console with boost gauge on side of part behind steering wheel -
