sounds like someone at nissan wanted to make a frankenengine, rb25 bottom end with some odd pistons and rb30e head and carbs, could probably do something with some work.Theres probably someone in some poor ass country that tuned one.Proud owner of the 2nd Skyline and the only GTR on the island!

If you do get N1's I wouldnt up the boost until you upgrade the ECU and get a tune. They move alot more air then stock turbos. I'm running R32 N1's (.60 a/r) @ 1bar with a tuned PFC and my stock injectors and fuel pump can't go any further safely.Originally posted by Ratdog View PostWell, I think the first thing ill do is get a set of N1 turbo's, cut out the boost restrictor (almighty yellow thingy) and run some higher boost pressure. I have a nismo gtr with intake, exhaust, n1 turbos at 1 bar, boost controller and it made 354 hp. Like the other guy said, going any higher you will need to invest a little bit more (injectors, fuel pump, ecu) and you should be good for 400.
My advice to you is 1 mod at a time. If you have a chunk of cash available, I would upgrade the turbos and get an ecu first. Get a good tune and see how it does. From there you can do bolt-ons like intake exhaust, whatever and ugrade your fuel system when you max it out.
You might also want to consider an aftermarket clutch...my stock one was in awesome condition but borderline at 354hp.

I wish I had a bone stock/low KM GTR, as here is ALL I would do (as not to hack up the car too bad):
EXHAUST/INDUCTION
- Ported Stock Exhaust manifolds, or N1 Manifolds.
- N1 'steel' Turbos @ 1.2 BAR.
- 'Big' Downpipe/Y-pipe.
- CAT Eliminated.
- 3"-3.5" Cat-Back Exhaust
- Apexi (dry filter) Intake Kit w/MAF adapters etc.
- Modified 'Twin Turbo' F-Pipe (the directional/seperator/flow modification)
- 'Hard' Intercooler Piping kit (stock Intercooler is good for 600 HP, so keep IT...just need hard piping)
ENGINE/FUEL/ELECTRONICS/DRIVETRAIN
- 'Drop-In' 9.1mm/256 'Easy' CAMs.
- NISMO (Tomei if within budget) Oil Pump.
- ATI under-600HP Harmonic Balaner
- ARP Rod Bolts (since the Oil pan is off anyways)
- Oil Pan Baffle Kit
- Stock Fuel Rail w/Nismo 'OEM style-rail mount' Fuel Pressure Regulator.
- 550cc Injectors
- 280LPH Denso 'variant' In Tank Fuel Pump
- OEM 'Tuned' ECU on MAFs
- Simple Boost Controller working in tandem with OEM Solenoid/ECU.
- Steel Gaskets - REPLACE AS REQUIRED (head etc.)
- Twin Plate Clutch.
This is a pretty long list of 'simple' stuff to do, but this would give you a bulletproof and reliable 8,000 RPM/400+Wheel HP daily driver, staying well within the limits of the rest of the drivetrain etc.
There obviously is ALOT MORE you can do....and alot less at the same time. I think this covers the basics of a performance/street setup.
My car was unfortunately TOO chopped up when it got here, so I could not do this, but if I got another stock GTR, this is the simple plan I would follow.

On a 15 year old engine no, not enough. why does it sound like such a pain to get 400hp out of the 26?
i just put on disco potato , 555cc injectors , and a few supporting mods and got 378 at 14 psi on my 20 and i only spent like jsut under 2 grand . shouldn't it be much easier with the "awesome amazing godzilla heart" that is the 26? im not too too familiar with the 26 but why is it so much tougher to get much lager numbers out of it over the base hp/torque numbers then it is for the 20? at least thats what i think is happening. i haven't seen too many 26's pushing much over 500hp , compared to the 400 ish 20's. im thinking its just cost markup because its a GTR, and no one really lieks 20's so parts are generally cheaper? i dunno .
then again im sure there aren't that many people that want to runn more then 400-500 whp on the streets as well hmmm the answer is elusive
