I use methanol at work all the time. It's about $250 per 50 gal. drum. No additives, just methanol

Gordoskin looks like we have a roduction tester amongst us ? I am considering w/m kit but was wondering if I could get away with only the single nozzle mounted right before the intake plenum, would this work ? I just dont want to take the intake off and f**k around with with getting it drilled and tapped - bottom line I havnt got the funds.

Any one who uses this let me know if it will work with 1 nozzle for my RB26

AEM sell meth / water injection parts -

Find and buy aftermarket car performance parts of the highest standard at AEM Performance. We carry cam gears, gauges, modules, sensors, and more.

Also AEM mention A/F ratio for different types of fuel (E85, etc) in this link below -

holy that wifi system looks pretty cool... less wires = less headaches

I would be sketched out relying on wifi for something like that.... considering how much my internet drops out lately

In certain applications you don't need to tune for water/meth, its pretty much a bolt on. Once you start tuning for it is when you want to run extremely large amounts of the stuff and increase timing and such past the normally safe threshold.

The other reason for needing a bit of tuning is the meth usually leans out the a/f ratio's so you'd want to add a bit of fuel to compensate.

For me i came off the dyno last year and i want a bit off added protection against knock and such. I also tuned to run a little bit rich so I'm going to throw as much meth as i can to get the a/f ratio's perfect and not cause any other issues from over watering the charge

                Correct me if I'm wrong.....

Water (distilled ?) alone can be used (with proper pressure/atomization) if only BOOST COOLING is the desired effect, correct ?

Methanol mixtures are implimented more so to run as OCTANE BOOST primarily, as well as Boost Cooling ?

Distilled is prefered but i don't know anyone who actually uses it. Everyone i know just throws the garden hose to it and calls it good. I think distilled water is a little overkill. And yes the water helps atominize the air fuel mixture better to get a better burn. It also effectivly reduces intake tempuratures which in effect drops egt's. Start with something cooler end with something cooler.

The meth is basically there just to boost octane levels. When tuning with meth it gives you the ablitiy to make tons of power with stupid amounts of timing with no engine knock.

                    Kind of but not really.

Contrary to belief, water does not physically cool the intake charge. It reduces knock and EGT.

If you "tune up" for either you run the risk of blowing your engine should the resivour ever run out or the system stop working.

I will be running pre turbo water injection based off boost in my RX7. pre-turbo, meaning the nozzle is in the filter has been shown to provide much better atomization of the water making it easier to burn off. I won't be tuning up for it for low PSI. It will merely be a safety feature.

My set-up will be a two stage system. 500cc of water for 9PSI and up. When the boost switch hits 15PSI a second injector of 300cc will come on, making my total water intake 800cc. I will only tune up for 15PSI and up. I don't see myself pushing it higher than 20PSI.

If you run water, you must also have a very strong ignition system to burn it all.

The kit I will be using is said to be the best for WI and is made by Rice Racing in NZ.

i don't agree with using washer fluid. Doesn't matter what kind you get they all have some detergent in them that is not good for the engine

Me neither. Some people I know have been using it but I wouldn't. Some different mixes out there are supposed to be better than others but still. It's like fuel. One "bad tank" and it all goes boom.
