  • gas from changing injectors ruin starter?

Well today i took apart and put my injectors back together about 5 times i kept getting leaks went through like 12 o-rings before i figured out the best way to put them in, on the injectors i got for some reason the o-ring spot on them is really wide (too wide for the o-rings it came with so they moved around) so i had to get some new ones. But anyways after you relieve the fuel pressure there is still a bit of gas in the back of the rail and it drips right over the starter i was wondering would a bit of gas in the starter ruin it? i did start the car up right after every time i reinstalled the injectors.

Had my starter die at a gas station thank god you can push start standards...

Also i thought i saw a puff of smoke from my starter area aswell at one point just want to know if enough gas can leak out from the rail on the starter to cause a problem.

While i am on this topic is there another car that uses the same starter or will i have to get a used one?

    Thanks
    Nathyne

I think the gas would just run off. I've changed injectors a ton of times and never had a problem with the fuel leaking down and messing anything up.

You either need to buy a used starter or see if you can get yours fixed. Make sure that your solenoid is getting 12V when ign is in the start position and its not just a trigger problem. I have lots of used ones and am in calgary every week dropping off parts. If you need one let me know.
