    Gear ratios seem "off" in r32 gtst...

    So I think I may have tighter gear ratio's compared to other gtsts. At 120kmh (120 on the speedo, 119 on the GPS), I'm sitting at approx 4100-4150 rpm in 5th gear. This seems stupid high. If I cruise at 140, I'm at like 4600 D:

    I'm not complaining though, it makes the car very "snappy" when driving fast, even though second gear is pretty much over at about 80-85kmh.

    Suspension is 99% stock, stock wheels, stock tire sizes (205 55 16)

    Does anyone else spin this high while cruising on the highway, or is it just me? I have some pretty intense straight-cut gear sounds, btw.

    edit: The straight cut gear sound could could also be an output shaft on its way out, im told.

    Could be the rear diff ratio. Maybe you got 4:55 lol

      That is high afaik... I thought my 5th gear was in a high rpm on the highway (110km/h at about 3.2k rpm... That might be the norm though, because im used to automatic trucks and their 2k rpm at 120km/h lol)

        hey dont get me wrong, i like it. Driving down the highway at 4500rpm, I make enough noise to wake the dead, and downshifting to pass isn't necessary. just put your foot down and instant power :P

        With no back seat or resonator, it gets pretty loud inside the car, though. Not loud enough, I say! Bring on the ear bleeds!

          That is very high. I do highway communiting alot now and noticed that at 120 I am between 3200-3500 rpm. As gay as it is I now drive 100-105km/h on a highway to save gas. This usually puts me at 3000-3200rpm.

          If you are that high something is def funky, maybe something aftermarket not listed in the japan auction?

              In 5th gear, at about 6800rpm I believe I saw maybe 200-210, however I wasn't interested in trying to figure out exactly how fast it was because my speedo is stock and only reads 180. I doubt it's accurate at that speed anyway

              This was on a dyno, btw.
