Id say if you not looking for performance(coliovers) id go with some kyb agx shocks and some lowering springs(tein) and the ride some be pretty good. The kyb shocks also come with damping adjustments to. Did you try adjusting the damping on you jic coils? Do you know what spring rate you got im sure there options.'91 skyline gtst

As far as I know, cheaper KYB's are still twintube shocks and not revalvable that I know of. Unless you get the more expensive monotube version, but not sure how good they are or know if they are revalvable.
Best shocks are monotube like Bilstein, Koni, etc. They can be damper adjustable if you go with the PSS9 model for Bilstein, or adjustable for Koni, etc. Also they are upgradable to adjustable height coilover by just changing the circlip spring seat to adjustable height type of spring seat. Also I noticed you can add remote resouvoir, etc for race use and revalve the shocks, etc.
Nissan use Bilstein shock on stock R35GTR that set lap record at Nurburgring. Koni is used on fastest R32GTR on dragstrip, so is Bilstein on one of the other 7sec R32GTR's, so they both are proven to be good shocks.RESPONSE MONSTER

Thanks for the kind words. I learnt by talking to suspension experts, reasearching what I learnt and seeing how each configuration worked on road cars, racecars and my own car. But you realise how much you don't know when talking to suspension experts. Always learning new things everyday.
On my car it was a compromise in setup for street use. But I think it was setup perfectly as there's alot of grip, even when ground is wet. But couldn't have got it that way without help from suspension experts.Last edited by Skym; 10-12-2010, 08:09 PM.RESPONSE MONSTER
