  • Blazt and other a/m consult software

Looking at getting my laptop set up with some consult software and was just wondering if you guys have any suggestions. I stumbled upon blaZt (www.blazt.biz) and looks great. I also know about conzult too.

Is anyone else running a form of consult on their computers? I mean 90 USD for cable + plus fully registered software is a price I'd pay no problem. I mean, I'm not going to be using it for tuning what so ever considering I have a stock ECU, but It'd be sweet to be able to see all the sensors in real time and take it out for a drive.

So let me know what your thoughts are on a/m consult software.

EDIT: After using search (me being an idiot and not doing so first)...surprisingly found info on blaZt and seems like everyone is ok with it haha. Well if anyone has anything negative to say about go ahead cause I think i'll order it!

    Nothing wrong with Blazt.

I use Nistune tuning software with the more advanced version of Consult cable (prevents drop outs when tuning car) that allows me to download maps from ECU on car, see what the sensors is doing in realtime, datalog the sensors, datalog wideband A/F ratio for each cell on fuelmap, etc.

This is the more advanced consult cable with connect, transfer to and from ECU light's on box (helps to see if cable, drivers are working and prevents dropouts when connected) -

From what I understand the dudes in above link designed the Blazt style cable and posted specs online. They have now designed a more advanced version of cable for tuning purposes.

blazt is good i have it on my laptop, you cant tune but you can log data play it back and check codes(does alot of things) you can see whats going on
i got it for a diagnostic tool and found it works very very well

ive never used nistune but it you can tune with that and probably does the same things + the whole tuning thing ,depends on what you want to do with it
understeer -is when you go off the road and see the tree that kills you
oversteer-is when you go off the road backwards and dont see the tree that kills you

bumping the thread. Would you say it's the best thing to monitor your car? Or gauges are still better? (i.e: aem sensor is better than oem sensor to check air fuel)

What else do you need? The plug, a laptop, a fully registred tuning sofware? ( nistune or blatz)

I used to use calumsult <- which is a free software. I now use nistune with the same cable I've had for years build by a guy in the state that doesn't produce them anymore

independent gauges are better for live info, as the more you poll from the ECU, the slower the response time.

of course for datalogging, a Consult interface is good!

Nistune also allows you to datalog with an external wideband, in my case, an innovate LC-1 now I gotta find out how to datalog boost while we're at it!

only thing I would like to add is: pre turbo temp, post turbo temp, post intercooler temp! now that would be complete
