  • coolent leaking problem

i was driving home got home got out of the car. then i hear a little sizzling noise i look under my car coolant is leaking from where the tranny meets the engine maybe little farther back. turned off the car the coolant stop leaking after like 5 min. i check the coolant hoses that i can see and everything looks ok. it seems like the coolant was leak somewhere on the firewall and was running down the fire wall. i know i didn't over heat my engine temp was normal. anyone know wat it could be.

I have the same problem right now. I thought it was my heater hoses on the left side at the back, but it isnt them. The leak is happening under the plenum and rolling on to other hoses and making it seem like its coming out of the tranny. It does that because its directly above. Pour coolant in to your rad and look at the back of the intake plenum and watch for coolant coming out.

I cant get at mine until I remove the plenum or pull the engine. Dont drive the car while this is happening. You wont see when the car is overheating and the coolant gauge will be normal until it gets really hot. My car lasts probably 10min before the oil temp is in the middle.

So you can see how bad that is. Keep an eye on the oil temp gauge, you could roast your HG. The coolant will not be able to recirculate due to this leak. Your coolant temp sensor is reading what the temp of the coolant is and if you dont have any in there it will just stay in the middle of the coolant gauge.

hey guys try this one fallow the two lines for th boost sylinoid back and than lift your finger and touch the larger hose under manifold if it is leaking there simply get a gear clamp put it around line push it back to the metal tube and tighten through the hole in the intake.. hope this helps thats were my leak was other than that neer the fire wall there are two hoses on the manifold side below the two lines for your boost sylinoid again and there is a small and large coolant line under the two small vacuum lines??

I was thinking it was one of them. I felt the back of them plenum and I felt what you are talking about. Ill go have a loot tomorrow. Do you know if you can see it better from underneath? I took a quick look but I think the starter is in the way.

k I know where its leaking from at the back of the intake underneath. it's the top hose that comes from the heater coil and goes to the block. so pretty much I have to take the intake out to replace it right?

if you get a mini 8mm ratchet wrench you can sometimes get in there to change it out. i've done it once. All depends on the clocking of the hose clamp and or if you can turn it. No fun! If you pull the starter off you have lots of room from under the car maybe?? But that top bolt is no fun either. Again, a 14mm mini ratchet wrench works good for that one.

Mine actually popped and began to leak aswell just as i got in line for coquitlam aircare talk about bad luck. Can anyone help me distinguish if this is a water hose or water tube? I recorded a video ( going to have to tilt your head to the right as the video was recorded on a slant, left is bottom side and right is top) and lowered my phone down between the firewall and intake. Had to use coolant pressure pump to see this leak.

                  here is the video: http://s667.photobucket.com/albums/v...=MOV000131.mp4
