i would say it depends on the over all use of the coils. i personally have the HSD HA's in my s14 and they are good for daily driving, but i wouldn't use them for the track as they are a bit too soft....even on the hardest setting i get quite a bit of compression

    jst my 0.02 cents

      I appreciate this 2 cents!

My friend just told me they have been benchtested by Selex suspension in montreal prior to buy it ( he bought them used) and actually never installed them on his car and got hit by a 18wheeler.

Stiff does not = better handling. Why run insanely stiff coilovers on what is primarily a street car? Aren't Apexi N1's more of a Japanese track coilover, where HSD's are more of a street/north american track coilover?

The Apexi N1's for the BNR32 are mainly a street coilover, way more of a street coilover then any other coilover you can find. They are good for drift since they have soft spring rates.

The Apexi N1's are 5kg in front and 4kg in the back, so really really soft. Like softer then a stock car with slightly stiffer shocks and height adjustment.

HSD eventhough they aren't a hardcore track coilover they are more of a track coilover then the Apexi. HSD for the price are hard to beat. They are better then Tein's (but that doesn't take much).

I have Apexi N1 coilovers and they are really stiff. I wouldn't recommend for street use. They came with the car When I got it.

Thats weird, if you check this PDF, click, it says its a good street coilover and the F/R rate is 5/4 kg, which seems to be like stock stiffness.

Maybe you have optional springs or there's multiple models.

Just did some searching, there was a period where apexi made two models (maybe they still do). A street model and a circuit model, the street is very soft from my understanding, which isn't a problem in Montreal since driving on pavement here is like driving offroad sometimes.

Now, on apexi.com they only list one coilover for the bnr32.. I guess I might just forget them since I have no real info about them.
