  • Rb20 to rb25 trans mount?

So the rb20 came out when I did my swap and I put a rb25 in to handle more power and be more reliable. What has happened now is I don't have a cross member that lines up with all four holes, only 2. Is there something you could suggest besides getting something custom made? Does someone already have this part made and where would I buy it?

haha, ya i ran into this issues when i did mine. My holes lined up between my 4 holes for some reason. Anyways i just section out between the two holes to make to notches, Got a couple fat washers that distribute load nicely and used the two bolts. Been running it for a year and a half now with no issues.

Thank you sir, I will give this a try. I just wanted to know if someone actually does this because alot of people do these swaps and anyone without a previous automatic car will need something like this

end of the day the trans mount just supports the transmission, It does not take any lateral forces from torque etc. That the engine mount's job. I would not worry about it. Like i said i'm putting 400 to the wheels and never had anything that seemed like a potential issue. Its all solid as a rock

I`ve always had a bin of nissan trans members so I cant confirm what one exactly you need. I think its from a S13 SR or something. It looks the same but reversed from the R32 one. All my 25 conversions I have just used the nissan one. I know 4XTOYS in Lethbridge Ab will have a few kicking around when I sorted some of their inventory. If you can figure out what one or if someone on here knows you can get one from 4XTOYS for a bolt on part. I think nissan made 3 kinds. One for auto, 5 sp R32 S13 and cant remember if 2 dr and 4 dr were the same or not. Sorry im not much help. just letting you know there is a right part out there

On auto to manual conversion you use manual S13 (240sx?? in Canada) crossmember. I think S13 manual crossmember can be used on RB25DET transmission into auto chassis conversion. Even can use stock RB25DET mount. Judasentinel was the person on this forum, who did the RB25DET transmission conversion with auto R32 chassis.

From what I understand, manual (shorter? length), auto (longer? length) chassis have the mounts for crossmember in different locations. With RB25DET conversion into manual chassis, custom make a crossmember to suit.

Anyone have any pictures? I can work with what I have and make something but I would like to see some other examples if possible

There's a thread showing the difference between R32 manual, auto chassis with R33 RB25DET gearbox. Was started by person mentioned in post above who has done this conversion on his R32.
