  • It's so big...can it fit? Tire sizing I mean.

I'm looking for new winter tires, and the narrower the better. The current tires sitting on my rims are 245/45R17. I don't know the width of the rim, and I can't measure it because I'm away from the car. Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60's are offered in the following sizes?

    235/45R17
    235/50R17
    235/55R17
    245/40R17

I'm thinking 235/50R17 will be a proper fit, but I wanted to make sure before ordering them. Here are a couple of pics for reference:

seriously, you should think about buying a cheapo set of rims in 16x7 (or stock gtr rims in 16x8) with the appropriate offset and put no wider than 205 on them
nokian makes the hakkapelita (one of best winter tire in the world) in 195/55/16 which is what you would need
you won't have to switch tires off those nice rims, and buying tires in 16" is much cheaper than in 17"

and i really hope that ride height is only for winter..

Yes yes, it's all temporary. I just got the damn car! lol.

I've been trolling the member's market section for stock rims in the GTA area, but it seems like the only people selling their stockers are out of province. I'd prefer to buy local, less downtime, no shipping cost, but we'll see. I plan on swapping the rims in the near future anyway, so I figured I could make these winter/track wheels, or just sell them.

I shipped a full set of wheels and tires to Winnipeg for a whopping $65 on the Hound and it only took 3 days to get there.

          Minor inconvenience.
