  • Regular or Nismo ECU

Opened up my ECU (just curious) to see if what is written on the outside is also on the inside. My ECU says Nismo but I see no indication of a resoldered chip or any work done. Can you guys spot anything out of the norm.

That's some mad crazy rust lol. Have it half-submerged in salt water? :P

I think it's just a Nismo sticker someone's slapped on there. I'm not SEEING anything that looks modified on there? :S

far left corner of the ecu, the 28 pin socketed chip. It has a sticker removed from it, it may be an aftermarket chip and someone removed the sticker from the chip

I wonder if you hook it up to Nissan Diagnostics if it would show anything out of the ordinary.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Nismo did ECUs like that. I think it would have been done through Omori Factory. I'd say it's just a sticker. ANd you might want to check for holes in your body behind the fender, I've never seen a ECU get rusty like that.
