I butchered quite a few wires this winter in an attempt to save weight, however at some point along the way i may have upset the fuel pump wiring harness.
I have traced ALL wires from the pump, to the voltage regulator, to the relay and to the ECU. ALL are intact.
So i haven't physically removed any wiring from this unit - question is, why does my fuel pump not turn?
I've pulled it out and tested it with a 12v source - works.
I've traced all the wires, they're still there.
Engine is out, so all engine grounds (alternator, wiring looms etc) are NOT grounded, possible issue?
There is one catch;

12v live wire on ign. from this box; what is this box, and where does this wire normally go?
There are no signs of a black/brown spotted wire in the trunk or anywhere in the loom so as far as i can tell it doesn't belong back there.
Also, i believe my easiest route is to wire in a direct 12v feed with relay from the battery as it's already relocated. It would certainly save time... I'm just unsure about wiring in the relay.
