  • My hood is sooo hard to open!

... I have the feeling I will break it this summer or it just won't open anymore. I'm sure it happened to some peoples.

What can I do? is the wire too slack? Do I need to tighted it? or should I buy a new one?

The R32s always have such hard hood release cables. I'm not sure what the reason is exactly. We do sell new hood release cables if needed.

You can lube the cable but sometimes they are just beyond repair. Hit up sponsors for OEM replacement or part-outs.

The latch could use some WD40 also.

+1 on latch lubrication, will most likely fix it.

Mine was so bad that when I went to open my hood on a cold day, the plastic handle on the interior of the car broke. So I took some WD40 to the hood latch, let it sit, and I opened it no problem.

I read some nissan service reports that said the hood, trunk and door latches should be lubed every 20-40k???

On my car, the cable sheath would bind into an "S" shape right at the release handle.
I can hold it straight when I pulled the release, and it releases easily.
Once it get warmer I'm going to see if there's a mounting bracket missing? Or run some hard fuel line to keep it straight :P
But yea, check for the line binding right behind the release handle.

tensioner inside is worn out usually. sometimes you can bring the clamping piece closer to make it tighter and it'll open with less pull...
