  • T28 on rb25?

Hey all, as I previously said in another thread, I was having turbo issues so I went out and bought myself a Garret t28. The question is.. Can I bolt it on directly, or do I have to change the flange. Ive seen people saying they put it right on, and others saying different. Anyone know what I should do?

    Thanks!

rb25 is a T3 so it is not a bolt on turbo. Lots of aftermarket turbos wont work with the factory drains and feeds also. So most aftermarket turbos are not a bolt on unless they were designed for it. what T28 did you purchase? If its decently sized, you may be able to purchase a new hot side with a T3 flange.

If it's a T3 flange on exhaust housing it should bolt on. If a T25 flange for SR20DET, RB26DETT, it won't without a T25 to T3 adaptor plate.

I think another option is a Ford T3 exhaust housing, swinggate assembly from ATP turbo -

Advanced Tuning Products or ATP Turbo offers aftermarket turbo solutions and engine tuning accessories for high performance cars.

Then there's using a machined stock RB25 exhaust housing with GT28 core, GT28 compressor wheel, GT28 compressor housing.

I've been reading a lot of things, apparently there is a huge debate on it being a t3 flange but t28 internals. Heard anything on that? But it's decently close to the same size as my current stocker.
