  • Boost Controller question

I have a HKS EVC 6, so my question is that with the wiring it asks for the throttle Input Signal. So on the ECU pin diagram it dose not clearly say that. Im wondering which one it would be then? The Throttle sensor output signal? or Throttle opening output? Possibly a different one?

    thanks!

I see what u mean, #38, or #56?... im not sure either, hopefully frankiman can confirm because he just installed an HKS in his car

Usually they want the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) because on boost controllers with advanced settings (like AVCr for sure) I'm not sure if urs has it? but it must if it takes the TPS readin... anyways on good controllers you can program it to give boost based on throttle position... heres the pin out:

unless frankiman changed his the evc-s doesnt need to be hooked up to the throttle signal i read my manual(i have the hks evc-s) and didnt see anywhere that you need to hook up to the throttle signal

                    Do you have a voltmeter/ammeter?

This is a bit crude, but it will help you determine which one to use, use at your own risk.

                    1. Hook the negative terminal of the meter to ground
                    2. Hook the positive terminal to a needle/pin and it through the wire.
                    3. Rev and see what the voltage range is
                    4. Repeat 1-3 for the other wire.

The voltage range will help you determine which one is the actual "Throttle Position" which is what you need.

Best wait until someone who has installed this to respond.

I had a similar issue with my HKS turbo timer that required "RPM" and I wasn't getting the ideal signal because I used the 7th WIRE not the wire in the 7th POSITION.

                    Hope this helps!
