wanting to do conversion from my GTS front end to a GTR. Since we don't know a lot of knowledge in the states about this what will I need for a full front end conversion. Could I just use a GTR front bumber, grill and hood. Would that fit properly?

how does it look? and how much do you have to trim. I was in W.A. a few weeks ago talking to my shop owner friend and wanted to learn more about the differences in figment.
So I can do Nismo N1 bumper, grill, hood (carbon or metal) and I will need the rebar as well? or does that just help alot?~~ Toyota AE-86 GTS - 1984 ~~

- both aluminium fender (wider)
- both steel fender riser
- both headlight GTR

- front bumper (wider)
u needs all parts listed upthere, if u want clean front conversion and no over gapping (none fitting)

there are a TON of JDM shops in Montreal who actually have GTR front clips (nose cut) which would have more than everything you need to do a really nice conversion for a gts.
They usually sell a complete nose cut WITH an RB26DETT for like $3,000... so you can get one with the motor, and then sell the motor for like $2,500... which means you get everything (including GTR brakes) for $500... or you can see if they'd be willing to just sell you the parts you need. They all ship.

I am sort of on the fence about it. if it was all too costly I would consider selling my car down here and maybe picking up a GTR back home... but going through that hassle enough to drive me insane~~ Toyota AE-86 GTS - 1984 ~~

Ya for sure, I've been to all of them many times and can tell you all kinds of things ... but none of that would matter because a lot of these places are day to day... meaning you call one day and they tell you they don't have what your looking for, and hang up on you, or swear at you and scream at you etc... then call the day after and its a whole other story.
it can be tough dealing with them, but as long as you double check you're getting what you believe you're paying for, they're legit. They're all legal companies and therefore won't screw you outright, but be damn sure you have in writing exactly what you're paying for.
For all that negativity... Theres some that are actually really good though, one of them sells their engines with a year warranty, and will even video a compression test and put the video on youtube so u can see the engines before you buy them. Only a small few of them are bad to deal with.
you should start by calling them up and seeing who has a front clip (nose cut) that you're looking for. probably only one or two of them will even have one in stock. and if they tell you its not in stock, but one is coming in the container... I would keep looking, they say that sh1t all the time and rarely is it true. lol
So call them up one by one and see who has what, then if you post up here who has what, I might comment on that particular company then, but for now just consider them all a bit hit or miss. that being said, they are an incredibly useful resource and as far as I know, Montreal is the only place in north america where there is such a cluster of SO many JDM shops... so we're lucky in that respect. The SkyLife Community & News Website --> http://www.skylife4ever.com
