  • hks mushroom filter

my hks mushroom filter is starting to get really dirty. i feel like im suffocating my motor

can i just spray it with a hose and let it dry to clean it or do i have to actually order the hks cleaning kit?

Can buy a bolt on Apexi airfilter.

        Good in this test -

and this is the filter test you should look at, as has CFM data (how much air the airfilter allows to get to turbo and affects hp output) -

3A racing is the top flowing airfilter, but is clamp on type airfilter that can leak if clamp is loose and cause boost / load cut problems (bolt on type airfilter like Apexi airfilter prevents this problem).

I've tried buying 3A, no go.

Wish there was a direct replacement for the HKS filters, as in same clearance

Im stuck with my shroom filters for now... Id rather get rid of them but the apexi ones wont fit, I have HKS hard piping pre turbo and the intercooler piping aswell, the HKS shroom filters are already a tight fit, Im thinking im gunna have to relocate my washer fluid bottle or something to fit different filters ... anyone else have this issue?

Since it looks like nobody has actually answered your question, yes you can just clean it and put it back in. It's best to just replace it, like Nismo_line suggested
