Curious to see how many people are able to get their cars to the track. More over I'm curious to know what you see for oil temps and what oil you use on the track.

never roadcoursed mine (yet). Just no opportunity. Done that type of thing though at deal's gap and a few autoxes and etc. One time when pushing the car really, really hard I saw my oil temps get up to 110 and level out there, but never any worse than that.
I run RP 10w30 + GM EOS always. RP doesn't have enough zinc content for solid lifter cars IMO but with the EOS it seems to work well and my engine/head is nice and quiet.
#1 thing with oil is keeping it clean! Fresh oil before track days and change it not long after, especially in an older motor.1992 GTR - 2.7L, GT2871R's, forged bottom end, big valves, 270* cams, R34 getrag
2000 Honda Insight - 70+mpg daily driver
2003 Sierra 2500HD Diesel - Tow vehicle

Just AutoX and drag strip for me. never had an issue with oil temp...not that the car is running long/ hard enough to matter in those types or racing.
I run mobil 1 synthetic 5w30Originally posted by Paradis^^ hows not being rich going? ...haters be hatin

Thanks for the input.
I was expecting to hear from you Frank. Looks my numbers are on par. Just wanted to make sure.
It's my final event for the year (damn job!) and plan on leaning a little harder on the car. I wanted to make sure everything is healthy and normal.
I'm running RP 15w40 this time (got a good deal) and seems to be good so far. Also got all the diffs changed with Redline.

Only made it to one lapping event this summer (gone too much), hope to make it out to most next year. Oil temp never went above the bottom quarter of the oem gauge, need to get a better one. Did reveal that with my new turbos and tune the car has way more power than the tires andsuspenion can handle, had to lug it around the track in third the whole way, any downshift to second and she went squirrely, so this winters project is new tires andupgraded suspenion. Anything left over from my budget will go to better gauges.

I put mine through 4 or 5 track days this year plus drags. My 25 showed temps around 110 when driving hard. When I push really hard I can get it a bit hotter. I have a 9 row cooler with an open vent in the bumper. Factory 'cooler' is removed. I run 5w40 mobil 1 delvac.

I know I will be tracking mine. A couple things I will do though is a new waterpump(upgraded aftermarket if possible), oil pump, an oil cooler and I will try and run a trans cooler. With all this it will be set up good for the track. One of my local friends has very low temps when ever I have been in his car and I'm sure that's because of the combination of goodies he has is what's taking care of thatMiss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!
