DBA or stoptech. 1pc or 2 pc?

Hey guys,

I got a set of dba 4000 at the rear 1pc. choice was simple, they don't offer 2pc for the rear.

But this winter, I want to change my rotor in front.

Either DBA 4000 which is twice cheaper than the 5000 2pc version.. Why do I want the 2pc ? well mainly for the braggin factor or the look factor ( but hey,.. do we REALLY can tell with wheels on if its 1 or 2pc that easily?)

Or I can get some stoptech 2pc in zinc coating for about 100 less than the dba 5000.

what would you do guys?

if im not mistaken 1pc rotors hold onto more heat longer then 2pc rotors.

I went dba 4000 series all the way. At the end, it all comes down to costs but the advantages of having a 2 pc rotor oppose to a 1 pc rotor is there. Perhaps with the money saved from buying a 2 pc rotor, you can get a set of stainless steel brake lines or a brake cylinder stopper.

the only advantage I see with 2 pc is look and 1lbs ligther lol. no!?

There's a big difference in heatsoak if you make a lot of high speed braking. Also there's less chance in having the rotors warping due to thermal strain. In your case, no it shouldn't make a difference.

AMS has a good set of front 2 piece rotors which I can't wait to throw on next year

Hands down DBA and Stoptech are better than the rest.
As for 1 or 2 piece rotors, if you are not tracking the car go with 1 pc and spend the savings on something else.
DBA 4000 cool very well, and are awesome quality. You can have them for a pretty good price as well, hat's my recommendation.

I've been using the AMS rotors on the track for 2 seasons and have no complaints at all and our track has some very hard braking and little time between corners for cool down. My last time attack I managed FTD with AMS rotors! The pads however are good for nothing more than average street use but you can't expect much for $50 pads.
