  • Boost issue HELP!

Hi, so I'll start with what I did to the car...

I remounted the intercooler and power-steering because they were done very badly and the intercooler was barely attached. Since then every time I give it the beans I can't go past 5000rpm because the engine cuts out and my boost gauge reads that I'm not able to make more than 7-8 PSI. I don't know if it could be the waste gates or some next issue.

    Please help!!!

Did you go over your charge piping?

When I remounted my FMIC, the driver's side charge pipe came slightly undone and there was a very small but extremely noticeable boost leak. I could hear a loud whistle and the engine would accelerate but my car wouldn't build boost. (Thought I blew my turbo).

I took the bumper off, and of course, it was as simple as that. Found where it was leaking (previous owner had it held up on the passenger side with zipties)

    Hope this helps!

I heard you were at Dizzy's shop. You can test your intercooler with a pressure tester. I have done the test on a few trucks (EME).
Also have a run on a Dyno. That helped me find all my problems.

i had the same problem it was the elbow on my twin turbo intake pipe it had came off on me and when i put it back on the rubber creased in the back of it and caused a boost leak after 5000 rpm and i could only hit 7-8 psi as well so check for a leak

I believe your boost is stock 7psi. Also I was thinking you should check your turbo's shaft play or if its ceased.
