  • Is it possible to rely on stock sensor?

Let say I get Nistune.. can I rely on the oem sensor or should I get aftermarket ? Is it possible to simply clean the sensor with steel wool and call it a day? is it possible ''fast'' these sensors and order new one?

Because the oem ecu gives oil pressure, oil temp, water temp and boost which is quite nice. All I would need would be O2 and fuel pressure

The factory ECU does not give those parameters. Those are provided from external sensors that read directly to the gauge(s). If the ECU you buy has programmable analog or digital inputs/outputs you can set those up to go to gauges.

you already have Nistune, thats how Almasi tunes GTRs

just get an external O2 wideband sensor, like Innovate or AEM UEGO, and a fuel pressure gauge

I know but I want to get a display so I can read nistune all the times.

I dont think you have Nistune, unless you bought it. Robin piggy-backs the ECU with an emulator that he made, not a nistune board and far from it, as it's flashable, not rewritable, unless you remove it physically and erase the data on it..

          At any rate, why?

Having mechanical or even electronic gauges is much more accurate and easier to set up.. I toyed the idea of running nistune all the time, but having to put a laptop or onboard computer and a dedicated screen in the car is a nuisance. And if you haven't already thought of this - if you plan to run a laptop on the passenger seat to see these things for fun, think about taking corners and braking :P

Like you can do with Link ECU display (used on driftcars, etc) -

Just a quick look at the displaylink from link ecu

Tablet with solid state drive, Nistune, USB 2.0 ports or similar x2 for wideband o2 sensor, Consult cable.

Or Trust Informeter touch if you want to monitor watertemp, MAF voltage, ignition timing, etc -

HKS camp is another option that I think allows extra sensors to be added, etc -

I bought the Informeter. It read everything the ECU does. so I was wondering what does the ecu tells?

The informeter allow only one pressure and one extra temp. So I was thinking oil temp and oil pressure but having water temp would of been nice.
