  • Launch Control/ Rev Limiter

    Hey,

Im looking to do a 2 step in my car This year. What options do i have other then a BeeR? and are they Less harsh on a engin than a BeeR, and why? What will the Other controllers sound like?! Thanks Guys!

A 2 step is like a second user defined rev limiter. Anti-lag that spools your turbo is completely different. What are you after?

hes after a launch control system. ie something that incorporates a power builder (anti-lag) which uses a predetermined rev limiter. pretty standard.

Don't GTR's have enough issues with the oil pumps? Bouncing off a rev limiter can't be too great for it methinks...

what about people who have spent the $$ to solve the oil drive issue? the oil drive issue and bouncing off limiter has been covered stick to topic

I've had my bee R for about two years now, no issues
People will say it will kill your car, it's wrong, bla bla bla ect
It's all how you use it. I have mine set at 5k rpm for launch which is activated by one click of the e brake
Top end is set at 7k. I don't use it that much, but it is nice to build some boost and launch with full power
The bad: revving your engine to 7k rpm just to spit fire and sound like a machine gun. It has been done a few times :P
As long as the gain is turned down it won't BANG. I think Gismo makes one too. Old PFC Pro's used to have it programmed into them

Bouncing off the rev limiter is what kills most oil pumps in GTR's. I'm sure OP wouldn't mind knowing this.

It was insight for OP just in case he did not know about it. I didn't know you ran the forums

OP, the BeeR works good. But from the sounds of it, you want it all just for the noise. Don't bother wasting the money then imo.

Not the sound at all. I mainly want a launch controller. The problem I have with the beeR is that when it cuts ignition it doesn't cut individual cylinders like a tecktoms used to. Although cutting ignition all together is better then cutting fuel, the back firing is hard on valve train and the increased egt is hard on the turbo. Maybe a beeR will be fine I won't use it much just at the occasional track day and as a fail safe if I over rev my car. But if I can find another option that is a soft cut I'd rather take that route. I'm running a PFC. Thanks guys

Just to clarify he would only benefit from a 2 step launch control if he had a big single right? Twins would spool much faster and depending on how big the twins are he shouldn't need a 2 step. Just wondering.....
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Anything will benefit from a 2 step. Building up 8-12psi at launch is great. I thought the power fc had a launch control you could enable?

powerfc has no launch control. the pro version did i think had some half assed way of doing it.
