  • So you are thinking about aem water-meth kit ? read this!

Here's a post I made on AEM forum 4 days ago.. still no reply, either on the forum and email.. Funny how as soon as something goes wrong, the support is very minimal if not non-existant.

I honestly feel the quality of their kit is average but their support is really lacking and installing these kit are not as easy as everyone want you to believe. I'm still a believer in water-meth but if anyone can help me solve these issues, please let me know!

I too have had problems with the kit. it may have lead to my motor going kaboom. i purged the system before my pass at the track everythings good my flow light was on during my pass and i purged it after and its good. yet my resivour was still full and my motor was detonating so it appears the meth failed during that pass but works before and after. why no one knows. the tech support for aem sucks i never get emails back. I too have the low fluid warning but taping the yellow and brown wires for me worked.

You can find dirt on almost any company. Look at borg warner! They're one of the best turbo companies (which supply lots to OEM cars) and they have failures and tech support issues, like the local guy that spun a shaft bearing after 1000km, not warrantied cause there was an intake restriction... what?

So take that with a grain of salt and hope it's isolated or spend 2-3x the price for a better kit.

I spent 7 hours installing my kit just to fill the 5gal bottle to flush the lines like the instructions state and find that the bottle leaks around the brass nut embedded in the plastis of the bottle.
No answer from AEM. 2 weeks now.
        Not impressed.

            ^ I think that's the issue..

If you want to get results... Pick up the phone, and call them.

Don't rely on forum's/email's to get **** done then complain when no one helps or replies.

Ugh sorry about your luck =[ Such a dangerous thing to have fail on you.... Last AEM kit i installed in a 240 required about 2 hours of custom fabbing and another 2 hours of mangling wiring harnesses for it to work. As far as i know it never effed up.. I keep a good eye on my wideband. Never called tech support, but it looks like it wouldn't have done me any good.

My advice.. return it and get a snow performance one.

Or don't use it at all.....I still can't find a good reason to use it. Most of you guys are running an on the edge tune with smallish turbos and big intake temps. Talk about begging to have your $5k to $10k engine turned into a paperweight if it stops spraying.

Better tunes with realistic power goals on the equipment you have, or don't be so cheap and start buying VP100 to mix into your fuel for when you want to really honk on it is going to be much safer in the long run.

Holy phuck...AEM should certainly stick to electronics. I bought a universal FPR made by them. Took me a year and 3 tunes to find out that the seat on the regulator was ground improperly (eccentrically) from the factory, which caused the thing to leak profusely back to the tank, hence why I could never keep up with the fuel pressure.

First tune: stock pump, made 308 whp.
Second tune: DW300 pump, made 318. Thought it was the factory wiring and the lines at this point.
Third tune: Walbro 255 feeding a Bosch 044. This time it made 462 whp, but ran out of fuel around 15 psi and 6500.

Going up in two days for tune number four. This time with the DW300 feeding the Bosch 044, controlled by an A1000. The system flows a measured 315 liters per hour at 65 psi (lol).

I'm with quadracer on this one....pick up the dam phone dont be shy their not gunna rip your head off like the doberman pincher next door. It took me about 2 hours to get this kit wired in and most of that time was deciding where I was going to hide the wires...My low fluid indicater was on as well when my tank was full of fluid. Somehow I thought of the idea of spinning the float around at the side of the tank and bam no more low fluid warning. It was upside down from factory. This kit isnt rocket science dont know why you guys are having issues.

I agree but to each is own I guess.

You guys propably think detailing is hard while I could detail a skyline closed-eyes. I don't know what I did wrong but I didn't want to troubleshoot it so I simple unhooked everything.

easier for me than troubleshooting something on the phone and my grip is the fact that when everything is good, they reply within 24 hours and when you have a problem they simply ignore your mail!
