  • RB26 Oxygen sensor?

Where can I order RB26 oxygen sensor? should i use OEM or jobber ?

I had some tuning problem at the dyno and althought the tuner did fix the issues, I still believe my sensor might be used and replacing them with new one might be more reliable for the future. Not doubting on the work of my tuner tho,

AMS sell these for 50$ each, are they reliable? is it something we can really cheap out or better buy oem at 600$ a pair!! Major difference, 100$ or 600$ for oem.

Genuine Nissan O2 sensors are not $600 a pair, we sell them for $176 each, or $352 per pair.
RightDrive launched in 2007 as a right-hand car dealership, and quickly expanded its operations to include parts and service divisions dedicated to serving right-hand drive vehicles. Whether you own a right-hand drive sports car, specialty car, diesel SUV, mini truck or postal vehicle, we are here to serve you, and keep your car in top running condition.

Generally with O2 sensors, either OEM or NTK are the only way to go.

I bought those AMS sensors from Z1 and they DO NOT fit. The 300zx must use diiferent sensors. I have a 1990 R32 GTR and the 300zx sensors are too big. Im not sure about any other skyline models but I know for sure that they will not fit a '90 GTR.

Just a word of caution if anyone was planning to buy these.

Only one needs to be rewired? Odd. I don't use any so I haven't needed to mess with this.

Lol....yea and I still get good gas mileage. My car ran a diet of nothing but leaded race fuel in Japan. I think the pigtails are still there but it doses well enough without them that I never got around to reinstating them. Plus if I ever feel the need to pour in some C-16, no worries.

If tune engine with cams, they usually become useless as far as fuel economy goes, as engine runs too rich at idle, etc. They are setup to keep A/F ratio around stoich at idle with stock cams. Also o2 sensor does help to compensate if engine runs lean due to exhaust or intake leak. Some reckon it's better to disable o2 sensor, retune fuelmap, etc properly and never renable o2 sensor. You do get a smoother idle without o2 sensor.

I actually have pretty tiny cams, 260 8.9mm In/Ex. Really want to step up to 270/280 @ 10.5mm In/Ex. Hopefully I can still pull 85% duty cycle on my 1000cc injectors with about 2-3 less psi after the swap. Even with some overlap getting a good AFR at idle should be OK with the O2s in place. It's the MARs that usually cause issues, mostly with reversion. But being so far away from the intake valves that shouldn't be an issue either on an RB at idle.

The A/F ratio, idle rpm for those 260 duration cams is mentioned here under initial setting -

If it was me, I would keep o2 sensors with draw through MAF setup. With MAP setup, probably disable them. Probably could disable them with a blow through MAF setup, as only have one hose joiner between intake manifold, piping (as long as you make sure it doesn't leak).

The o2 sensors adjust to intake airleaks, including intake manifold (especially with a draw through MAF setup before turbo, where ECU can't compensate for intake airleaks behind MAF at lower rpm / offboost. With MAP ECU you probably could disable o2 sensors permantly, as MAP sensor is at intake plenum and ECU can compensate for intake airleaks), exhaust leak at low rpm if it happens, fuel economy with stock cams.

Factory wanted to make sure engine lasted the 100,000km or 3? year warrenty period, so put safeguards in place (o2 sensors, knockmaps, etc). With race engines o2 sensors become another part to replace and engine is hardly ever at low rpm (on boost most of the time), so they are disabled.
