    Safety inspection: 4 wheel steering not working?

    Hi!

    Long story short. My new R33GTR need to go thru inspection to be registered in Saskatchewan and one of the problem is 4 wheel steering not being functional. However, as far as I know super hicas don't work until above certain speed and they never road test the car. I don't have any hicas light at all on dash. I asked the inspection guy how he figured out its not working. He showed me a YouTube video of a Silvia rear wheel turning while stationary. He said I can get official documentation from Nissan dealer to prove my point.

    I also failed to enter the hicas diagnostic mode using instruction online

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Hicas only moves like 0.5*, barely visible. The only way it'll kick in is either diag mode or driving. If there is no light it's fine. I'm an auto tech in Alberta, and Hicas has never been an issue for inspection. Even older model preludes have 4 wheel steering, did he fail those too? He's full of crap and is giving you the runaround.

        I am really pissed off atm

        I just called Nissan dealership to get some official documentation now. Should I take it to another place to inspect?

          Yes some places pass where others failed, all depends on the mechanic, or even the mood he's in,

            No take that info back to them and yell at them and tell them to pass it. And make sure you aren't charged. They cannot base an inspection on a YouTube video... I would be right pissed off and going to the top if I needed to dispute that fail and get it passed.

              So the SGI guy said if I can provide anything from Nissan, even in Japanese and I can do the translation myself, will be sufficient to waive the requirement. Do any of u know where I can get one online? Please! Really need it urgently

                Here's a jap brochure for the 95 and 97 R33 GTR; there is somehting about Super HICAS in there.
